There could be a paper jam in the printer head clearning system. If the head cleaning system is not completing the cleaning motion cycle the carriage will not move the catridge to the centre.

Clean and change the ink absober.

The picture shows the cleaning resovier. Each time the cartridge pass buy the print head is wiped and residue is deposited there. Looks messy and it is. As for the cartridge usage, they may be an economy selection in your software that may reduce ink consumption. Of course if you are printing in color versus black and white the consumption increases substantially.

The backlight driver circuit is mulfunctioning. It might be a part of the initialization process from the printer BIOS. Try updating the BIOS first.

Check antennae make sure is connected and is electrically & mechanically sound. Check the battery make sure is fully charged. Check the signal bar level, strong signal must be more than. 50%

Check with a multmeter if the input power (voltage) is sufficient. If ok, carefully open a printer check for dry joints over the in built power printed circuit board and if found resolder carefully. Sometimes rats penetrates and damage wires, find out and remedy.
