SOURCE: 2004 Cadillac Escalade Engine Stalling when idling in hot weather

electronics supply place sell a spray that cools to -60f.
there is a component or device overheating, and if you spray freeze spray on the suspected items, the stalling will go away until it heats up again.

Car cutting while driving and idling just keep going up and down

Check your RPM, check if it is rushing when you turn it on. Set the RPM needle to exactly 1.

The servicd writer suggests throttle control maintence every time I take my 2002 Escalade in for service. The car has 38000 miles on it, does it need that kind of service?

No service required unless the engine is idling to slow and stalling at red lights. This maintence is only requied on a as needed basis. Idle speed should be 550 to 650 rpm.

My 1997 Chrysler Concord idles at 2500 to 3000 rpm when first started and when it warms a little it idles at 2000 rpm and stays there. When I start it right after I turn it off, it starts at 2500 rpm then...

Maybe a short to the TPS or something shorting it out. There's also the IAC that really controls the idle but usually it will cause the RPM's to go up and down a little erratic if bad. The MAF sensor can cause major problems as well but since you already swapped the TPS and it helped and then stopped I would focus on that sensor and especially it's wiring to and from the ECM. Be careful with the sensor signal wire to the ECM can blow it if more than 5v passes or spikes.

While stopped car rpm will rise sudden acceleration

I would check your idle, and to be sure not to press the acceleration pedal when you're stopped. You could try putting it in neutral while your stopped to try and help the acceleration go down. Hope this helps!?

RPM coming down when AC put on, RPM down when weather is hot

You may have a bad or sticking IAC (idle air control) valve. This is the part on the throttle body that maintains the proper idle speed when any load is applied and sets your base idle. Have it checked at a qualified repair facility.

High idle 1997 Madza 626 4 cylinder auto transamission

Idle control valve...

HIGH DOLLAR PART, 400 to 500 smackers....

You can try cleaning it, I beleive that is the same 2.0 liter motor they put in the ford Probe? I could be wrong, I know they 2.0 has issues with the idle control valve..

Anyway, if you want to try cleaning it, try this link... its to a Probe, but should be the same as yours...

http://www.geocities.com/adamk01452/IAC_Clean.html

If its not the same as that, you can probably search the net and find a site specific to your car... but it really should be the same motor, even the haynes manual for the Probe has sections for both the Probe and 626 in it...

Good Luck!!!

High idle 1997 Madza 626 4 cylinder auto transamission

The PCM controls idle speed to ensure good driveability. The PCM will only attempt to maintain the desired idle speed when it “knows” the throttle is closed. A throttle switch or the TPS input is used to determine when the throttle is in the idle position. Motors and solenoids are used by most PCM’s to control idle speed. Many PCM’s are programmed to attempt to control the idle speed by adjusting spark timing and then by controlling the idle speed actuator. Some computers of the early 80's did not control idle speed.
