no
blown head gaskets will boil very quickly
I would be checking the temp SENDER unit for the temp gauge as it may be faulty and making the gauge read wrong
run the fault codes to check for coolant SENSOR for a possible fault as well

low fuel pressure , random misfires, hard starting
it has to be extreme for a filter to be blocked
the same indications for a blocked filter or problem pump can be from a faulty EVAP system or EVAP purge valve not venting and the tank is in a vacuum condition
read the fault codes first

If you were in an accident, it would need reset. Most likely your pump has died. The switch is on the passenger side. either under the dash, behind the kick panel, you'll see a hole in it to put your finger. Or it could be in the trunk behind the carpet. This is where I have found the switch in all makes and models.

Only Ford products use an inertia switch, and it only turns off in a wreck.
Have you checked the fuel pump relay to see if it is sending power to the pump ?
