You may want to contact whoever your IT source is you deal with. They do have programs to assist in reestablishing information. It could be a driver that you disconnected accidentally. If so, you would need install a driver.
When all else fails, you may need take the unit in to someplace like Office Depot or Best Buy for a checkup. They do check and tell you what is wrong, how much it will cost to repair, etc.
If the device offers the ability to create folders (like rock, folk, classical) that are selectable, create one called podcasts. If not, retitle all the podcasts so that the file names all start with a Z, and then at least they will be at the bottom of a master list when played in sequence. Doesn't help in shuffle mode though, as the podcasts will still play randomly if you can't isolate them to a separate folder.

REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS:
Use a pen tip or other sharp object to insert the RESET hole gently on the side of the player and connect it again to your PC. If it is still not recognized, your player may be at fault. Try the Philips Device Manager software.
NOTE: Contents will be removed by using the repair function.
Install the Philips Device Manager and run it with your player connected to your PC. You can download it under the Software & drivers section.
Click the Repair tab in the Device Manager, press and hold the corresponding recovery key on the player when connecting it to your PC.
To charge your GoGear mp3 player without your computer, you will need a universal USB charger as well as a mini-USB cable (which connects to the mp3 player and to the USB charger). These can be purchased at the Philips Online Store:
This worked for my Opus player supposed to work for all Opus players. Tip: if the Device manager asks you to update first, dont, close the dialog and Choose 'Repair' tab. Follow the instructions from there. You need to connect the player whilst holding the "+" volume key to enter the repair mode
to record new music to mp3 from a cd just open up windows media player and insert your cd click on rip and there you go your new music should be added to your library there and after that you can sync it to your mp3 player with no problems
