I don't know which software you use to convert your file to pdf. If you use nemopdf it would be easy. All you need to do is open the file you want to convert, then click "Add-Ins" and selcet the plugin named nemopdf. You could even edit the description or add a password. ;)

Hi akiswani ,
You can save into JPEG and use free PDF Creator to convert JPEG into PDF :
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/
or you can use VueScan to scan into PDF but it's not free : http://www.hamrick.com/
Best regards ,
fanaudi .

There is no option to scan as pdf on my 4625 HP scanner (tif, jpg etc are available), how can I add pdf?

The HP SCANNER SPECS say: Scan file format Bitmap (.bmp), JPEG (.jpg), PNG (.png), TIFF (.tif), PDF (.pdf), Searchable PDF (.pdf), Text (.txt), Rich Text (.rtf).

That means it is supported. What you can try is to try and uninstall ("Programs and Features in Windows) the Adobe PDF program and get the free one to install again from: http://www.adobe.com/products/reader.html

If it still doesn't work (links itself into Windows and the HP software), try reinstalling the HP software or go to HP.COM and you can download the latest full-version file for your 4625 printer.

How to scan in pdf format with xp

Hello,
there are many softwares available to scan to PDF, but they are often expensive to acquire for individuals. A search on the internet can reveal a lot of them quickly.
One way to bypass this if you cannot afford the above software is to scan (just like you scan anything already) whatever you need to scan then you will use a "Print to PDF" feature that is available in some free software like CutePDF for example.
To use the Print to PDF feature, you select "Print to PDF" as your printer when "printing" the previously scanned file.
Let me know if you need any more details.

In the scanning software of the printer there is an option to select PDF as your default.
Please go into the scanning software feature located in the program menu.

HP F2280 won?t scan multiple pages into a PDF file

I fixed this by Installing the full suite of programmes on the installation CD, specifically Installing the "OCR Isis" programme (or Iris, not sure).

I had the scan-to-pdf option, but then when I reinstalled my system it was no longer available. I tried updating Adobe Acrobat reader to v9.0 and I don't think this fixed it. But at the same time I installed the "extra" programmes of the HP Installation CD, and then the scan-to-PDF feature was back.

So basically, install the COMPLETE set of programmes on the HP installation CD seemed to fix this.

I have a HP Deskjet F2180 printer, but I suspect that the HP software is generic across alot of its product range.

Cheers! - Hope this helps someone.

Scanning

Hi GB, try updating your printer drivers:

Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop. Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Power on pc. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done.

Lexmark X7350 Scan feature

well you are able to scan multiple documents.. but the file size is more.. the way lexmark software writes the pdf file.. the file will be huge for PDF... but not sure if this is a case with any other all in one manufacturer like HP also... but i would assume it would be the same.. so scan the file to MS WORD or any other application that supports multiple pages... so u have it as one file... but if u want only pdf files, then u have to do a little work around like writing the MS WORD Document to pdf format. If the PDF Writer is not installed with your copy of MSWORD then try any free pdf writer software available on the internet.
