There are methods to update the Flash.
(1) Local Machine
• RCP (Remote Control Panel) mode
This method is for Parallel Port or USB Port. Connect the PC and activate the RCP (Remote Control Panel) to
upgrade the Firmware.

How to Update Firmware using RCP
1. Connect PC and Printer with a Parallel Cable or a USB Cable.
2. Run the RCP utility and select Firmware Update.
3. Search for the Firmware file to be used to update the set using the Browse Icon.
4. Click the Update icon. The firmware file is transmitted to the Printer automatically and the printer is
initialized when the download completes.
5. Click the Refresh icon and check that the updated version numbers are displayed.
How do i scan to a pdf and save on my pc

Turn on your samsung all-in-one device. Put your document that you want to scan face
down on the tray of the samsung all-in-one.

Open your samsung device manager on your personal computer or your Mac. Choose
the "Scan" function. This will be slightly different depending on whether you are on a PC
or a Mac andwhat samsung all-in-one model you have.

Hit the "Scan" button on your samsung all-in-one or the "New Scan" button in the top left
corner of the software on your computer.

Click the drop-down menu at the bottom right of the scan window, below the image. Choose
the "PDF File" option. Hit the "Accept" button. A dialog box that allows you to save your PDF
in a location of your choice will appear.

Type a name for the PDF in the "Save As" field. Choose a place for it on your computer with
the drop-dowm menu. Click the "Save" button. Your scanner will then scan the PDF and save
it.

It could be a dirty pickup roller in printer. Found following advice from Samsung:
Printer will not feed the paper depends on following possibility.
- Paper Type:
- If surface of the paper is too smooth, pick-up roller will not feed the paper.
- In such case, try with different type of paper.
- Pick-up Roller:
- If the rubber roller is worn out, it will not feed the paper from the tray. There is not enough friction to feed the paper.
- Pull the paper tray out and clean the rubber roller.

Well I fixed it!!! Here's what I did. You see this picture of the cover opened? Where the arrow's pointing is the home position of the printer head. Under there I found a scrap piece of paper! Here's exactly what I did. When I got home I decided to plug it in to see if it would work, but it made the same noise and showed the same error message as before. I opened the cover as shown above. This resets it, and it says "close cover". I closed it, and AS it started to go through its routine I OPENED IT again, and I could see the printer head moving back and forth. At this point I used a flashlight to see where the home position of the Head was, and that's where I found the scrap of paper!
I unplugged it for safety and was able to remove the scrap with my fingers.
By your descriptions, referring to the other users, you just might have the same problem.
Samsung SCX-4521 "Paper Jam 2" won't clear
I had this problem too. For me the answer turned out to be the paper sensor in the back part of the machine, behind the little back door just under the top part of the machine. This sensor hangs down from a thin rod that runs across the width of the machine, and is held in place by a small spring that encircles the same rod that supports the finger. The finger had apparently gotten moved so the spring was dislodged from its proper place. I was able to rotate it around the rod with my finger & get the spring moved back to where it should be. This seems to have cleared the problem--I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

go to samsung web page and write your printer model in the little window then download the newest drivers from the download page, you will need 1. driver for the printer, 2. driver for the scanner, 3. driver for the fax and last samsung Dr. Printer
Setup
Go to Control panel>>Installed printers and delete your samsung from installed printer list.
After deleting, unplug printer cable, restart computer and reinstall the software from disk.
If you do not have disk you can download software and manual from here
