20 Most Recent HP VECTRA VLI8 P3 Motherboard (KZM6120) Questions & Answers

Hi RobPu,
I have searched everywhere. I even entered a chat windows with Compaq & asked for a site to download the manual for Compaq Presario SR5015LA Desktop PC which has the motherboard MCP61PM-HM in it. (Nothing). This board was made by
ECS known as EliteGroup. Still nothing. Forms for the most part do not help, only with drivers. Drivers for the board can be found on Compaq's web site.

But the manual will not download. That's what is needed to hook up the front panel pins to you're case. I even looked for other possible boards who's layout was close to the MCP61PM-HM.
Nothing! I did find other Compaq PC's that also had the same board in it but after looking through the manuals, not one actuallys shows where to plug the front panel LED's on to the board. Why? Because Compaq does not support a user changing out their case for another. There is no money in that.
For the most part RobPu, system boards share some things in common. I am posting a picture for you. This pic is upside down for you so try & work with me here. Hook up you're LED's as shown. This should work for you. Pin 1 is you're starting point.
This is standard for ECS boards even if it's being sold by Compaq. Like I mentioned, for you it is posted unside down.

The old card has to be disabled in bios or some times you can do it from safe mode by uninstall. For bios settings depending on the PC it self you would have to start the pc and first screen that shows up will tell you how to access bios settings. In the settings there is an option to turn off on board video card. Hope this helps.

Your system doesn't support USB 2.0, only USB 1.1 . To have USB 2.0 you will need to add a USB 2.0 card to your system..

I'm assuming you didn't use the Cmos jumpers to reset the cmos and only replaced the battery?
Checked board to see if there are any capacitors bulging, leaking r blowing?
You don't say why you removed it in the 1st place? I'd remove it again and test it outside the casing, see if that solves the problem, then look inside the casing to see if there is anything that could be causing a short,
Other than that, you may have damaged a component on the board when you originally removed it

hi sounds to me like either the air flow metre or the cam sensor at fault but your better of getting the car pugged into a diagnostic machine which will tel you straight away whats at fault. regards

upgrading your bios, changing rom or using another bootable disc can solve the problem

This is usually a sign the the hard drive is start to fail. It will just get worse until the drive completely dies. Back up your data now and plan on getting a new hard drive ASAP. If you get the new drive before the old on fails there are tools that will allow you to copy your old drive to the new drive, this way you loose nothing and are up an running in the shortest time.

Go to HP's website, find the model you use, and download the sound driver. Or, if you use a third party sound card, go to their site and download their audio driver.
