3e Black cartridge won't print

I've tried cleaning, deep cleaning, etc, with multiple nozzle checks. I am using a brand new cartridge and even tried a second new cartridge without success. The top band 3eBlack on the nozzle check pattern is now completely blank. The more I clean the worse it has become. The cartridges are all firmly seated in their print head slots. All inks are the correct ones for this printer. Any suggestions appreciated. Can the print head be cleaned manually without requiring the expertise of a service center - nearest is 75 miles away. Office is dead in the water unless I can get this working today. Only alternative is to purchase a new machine.

Black ink ran out while finishing a printing joy. I replaced it with a new 3e black cartridge. It would not print. I changed the 3e cartridge again. Same results. No printing. All aother colors work fine. I also cleaned the cartridge.

I just purchased an ip3000 from ebay, and when I received it I installed a new black ink, and noticed the color inks are full, when I print a print Aligment I get only 3 blue rectangles and the following error:

An error occurred during automatic print head alignment.
Press the RESUME button to clear the error. Refer to the user's guide to check the error, and reexecute print head alignment. If an error still occurs, carry out manual alignment.

    This happens every time.

When I print a nozzle check, the 3eBK line is completely blank, I tried sever cleanings and deep cleanings and no change.

I'm not an expert but I go through a lot of ink.. I have found that even with new ink some of the tanks of ink aren't any good especially with compatible which i buy a lot of because it's a lot cheaper (ebay). With that ink I have gone through 10 cartridges in a row before finding one that worked correctly again (I mean out of 100+ cartridges hitting a run of 10 that where bad but the rest good.)

Also, a tech for epson once told me to hit deep clean 7 times in a row before a head check to clean their nozzles.. That has helped with my printer and at Fry's electronics, they have a cleaning solvent in kit, haven't tried it, but i have run alcohol through mine but I'm told that is very ******* the print head (dissolves the glue).

Hope that helped..

My canon iP3500: Black print comes out patchily, despite many attempts at deep cleaning, Each time I deep clean, a couple of pages come out with the black print OK, then it goes patchy again.

It sounds to me like your cartridge nozzles are clogged. That's more common with recycled or refilled cartridges, but it can also happen with new cartridges if they are older. If you just purchased the cartridge you could try to return it. Otherwise, I would try to continue deep cleaning and nozzle checks until it starts to print. It takes a lot of ink, but sometimes that's the only way to get it to print. Usually it will work eventually. Do a nozzle check in between each cleaning and deep cleaning.

I haven't used my canon pixma for a few weeks, came to use it again and the 3e black cartridge won't work, (tried printing from computer and copying) have done a clean, deep clean and nozzle check, even...

The black print head is clogged. The reason why the black is clogged and not the photo black or any colors is that the black is pigment ink and the photo black and colors are dye based ink. The pigment ink is a particulate formulation that binds up when water is evaporated out of the ink. You need to buy a new print head the fix the problem. You can buy a new print head for $75 from precision roller.com.

Will not print in black. will print in color. I

Sounds like a badly clogged nozzle. If you are using aftermarket/refilled cartridges, the changes are the ink is not up to manufacturer specs and has dried and clogged the nozzle. The best way to clear this is to take a new black ink OEM cartridge and run the deep cleaning a number of times (at least 3) to see if the nozzle can be cleared. If you continue to use non-OEM cartridges, I would keep a set of OEM cartridges around for nozzle clearing purposes. Also, take the aftermarket ink cartridges back to the vendor and either get an upgraded cartridge or refund.
Let me know if this corrects the problem. Thanks.

3e black cartridge not printing. Canon i860

Did you try another cartridge?

What can happen sometimes is that the print head can get blocked.
You can clean that by removing the print head from the printer. Do not touch the foil on the head or the print nozzles.

Boil some water, pour 1/4 of an inch (6mm) of water into a saucer, place the print nozzles in the water for a minute or so.

Take the print head out of the water and touch it on a paper towel to get the water off.

Reassemble the printer and see what happens...

Canon MP750 not printing

I had a similar problem. I put in a new ink tank but did not seat it properly. When I tried to print nothing came out. Worse yet, apparently it burned out those jets in the print head! A new print head fixed my problem. I got it on eBay and am very satisfied.

Replaced empt 3E cartridge. Now it won't print

I had removed and reinstalled the empty 3e cartridge. Sorry for the Confusion. I hadn't put a new 3e cartrige in until today. Them I ran " deep clean" twice. The printer works fine. I still don't understand why the printer wouldn't print color, when I was had set the printer to print in color when my 3e cartridge was empty and all colors including the 6 black showed full.
