Orange light flashing five times

With the printer on... Open the lid Remove the ink cartridges Lift the print head lock lever on the left Remove the print head Gently clean out any ink Gently clean the copper contacts on the back Gently clean the print head nozzle(s) on the bottom Make sure it's dry Re-install the print head Put the lock lever back in the down position Reinstall your ink Close the lid Try printing again The printer may detect that you removed/inserted ink so it may go through a print head cleaning of it's own that you need to wait to finish If needed, power cycle the printer and then try printing again You may need to replace the print head

The printer won't print... it demands I try a test page... I print the test page and it STILL won't print. My ink cartridge levels are fine!

ok first thing to check is the connection. either network or usb, Go to start on your computer and bring up devices/printers and faxes. look for your copier. right click and select printer properties it will be below preferences. you should get a page come up. first option is general, select the PORTS option and check the ticked address, either the ip address or usb. if it on parralell port this can cause errors. it might have selected this if you have a usb port try swapping the usb selection. If on network cable check the IP address is correct. You can check the ip by typing it into your web browser and the web page for the copier should come up if connection good. It sounds like the connection type may be wrong if its saying off line. Good luck, hope it helps

Paper is not printing

Since you are asking about a Canon Pixma ip3500, I would guess that the ink cartridge(s) is/are dried out, empty, or clogged. Try swapping out with new, fresh Canon cartridges and see if that fixes the problem. Also, be aware that it is extremely ill-advised to use only refilled or "compatible" cartridges all the time in the case of inkjet printers (of which the Pixma line of printers is an example). The reason being that the refilled and "compatible" cartridges use plain ink while the OEM cartridges use a mix of ink and lubricants so as to keep the ink delivery system functioning to peak efficiency and help to keep the system clear of clogs. Therefore, if you have recently put in a new cartridge but it is yet another refill, swap it out for a real Canon cartridge and then try using the "clean the printer" function to try to clear out the ink nozzles. If you don't feel comfortable doing this or you are unsure how to accomplish this task, get in touch with a local computer or printer repair shop and they will gladly resolve this for you.

Canon Pixma Ip3500 will not power on

In that case its power source - the black box on which the mains cable plugs in is dead.
The printer is fixable - all you need to do is to replace the source. But this will cost you almost as much as a new printer. Your choice.
