Color Wheel I just replaced the lamp on my panasonic MODEL: PT-61LCX65. Now the tv is not showing the red or green colors, but is showing blues, yellows, whites, blacks, and browns. Pretty much everything is either blue or yellow. I called best buys geek squad and they said its maybe a problem with the color wheel. Can i fix this on my own or do i need to call service personal?

I'm pretty sure if the color wheel spins with no vibration that it's not the colorwheel. I would have to say that your cable is bad. If it has been bent repeatedly near the connection that the wires could be breaking down. Try a brand new cable.

AFTER REPLACING THE LAMP, I HAD TO PUT THE COVER ON AND NOW THE SCREEN HAS TINY BLUE DOTS AND THE POWER LIGHT STAYS GREEN. THE LAMP LIGH IS NOW ON AND RED

The blue dots are due to a failing optic block. The lamp is only making them show up more obviously. The TV is probably failing as the blue dots will get larger and eventually take over the screen.

When you trun on my panasonic PT-61LCX65 tv it makes no sounds the light blinks green. and then red and turns off. what is wrong. i have looked at the buble and it looks fine.

Hello,

does the TV bring out sound even as the screen display is dark?

How long have you been using this TV and have you ever changed the lamp/bulb? Problem should be from the TV lamp/bulb.
Have the lamp replaced and hopefully, your screen should be perfect as before.

Let me know if you need directions in replacing the lamp, even though it is very simple replace.

Yours sincerely.

If see red, blue, and green spots in the picture. Is this a color wheel problem. (I recently replaced the lamp.) If it is the color wheel, can I replace the color wheel? Or is it not worth the cost?

If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem. If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured. You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com

Panasonic pt-61lcx65 green spot

This may be a main board issue if the green spot moves. This is repairable. This may be a panel issue if it does not move and it is present on the panasonic splash screen and if it affects the osd menu.

I have a panasonic pt-60dl54, the sound works but green picture

Hi,Yes your problem sounds like the DMD board. This is how it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screens. You will need to replace the DMD board. Have a blessed one!

Depending on how much you watch this set the lamp could be out again, they don't have to look blown to be blown.

Panasonic PT-61LCX65 tv has color spots

if you mean color spots size of a dime or so.
  • easiest: it is dust in some step of the projection light path.
  • hardest: the light engine could be damage
if you mean little ones as little dots (a neddle punshing) red and blue but always there:
  • condition call it: pixels always on: light engine is the reason.
as you see the light engine is the main part here, IT is expensive repair. so if you can survive with those little dots do it.
IF it is dust, is good idea asking for and estimate to see if can works.
