Panasonic PT-61LCX65 61" Rear Projection HDTV Questions & Answers
Faint red bar
This model does not have a bulb. It uses older CRTs.(cathode ray tubes). Your convergence probably is off now. You may be able to re-align it, but between you and me, its an old TV and not worth putting money into. If you can adjust it back, great, it now, Id live with it until you can replace it. check your menu for convergence settings.

Panasonic PT-61LCX65 Bulb Reset
hold the volume button down on the t.v. & the split button on the remote at the same time for about 8 to 10 seconds. The t.v. tech. did this with my panasonic 61lcx65. Also I had 2 fairly large red / orange & 1 blue spots on the screen which I thought were a result of the bulb being bad , but the tech. attached a device he called an eeprom jig & it reset the chip ? Now the picture is like new again.

Panasonic HDTV 1080i Lamp out
If the lamp is actually out - replace it - if the lamp is still working just reset the lamp hours - at 10,000 hours it automatically says that but it is just the lamp time needing a reset.

My Panasonic multimedia projection tv -PT-61LCX65 needs a new lamp....where is the bulb located within the tv? How do I remove?
Hello, the lamp is located at the rear of the set. Unplug the tv before you start. There is a door secured by a screw, remove it to expose the lamp housing. There is a screw that secures the lamp, remove it, then you can gently grasp the handle and slowly pull it towards the rear of the set. To replace the lamp, gently slide the new lamp back in and secure it with the screw you pulled out. replace the lamp door cover, and replace the screw. plug the tv back in and turn it on, you should be fixed. Here's a link to a video on how to do it....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvF36pepCOI.....tks

Reset lamp timer
Simple answer: -vol button on set and split button on remote hold at the same time
I just figured mine out!!!! So many people with so many different solutions. I read the instructions for the TV, those says to read the instructions for the lamp. I read the instructions for the lamp but this model isn't on the instruction list. For other models it says to use the volume down button on the set and the PIP on the remote. No PIP button on the remote. But wait the bottom row of buttons has a multifunction button for split screen! I tried that and it worked. I had a message that said the lamp timer was set to zero. Done! Hope this helps someone out there.
