Printing wavy letters instead of straight

In typing my resume, everything is fine, then some of the lines are coming out wavy, or looking almost italic.

How do I delete all formatting?

Your problem is the printwheel. The "u" is probably broken. The lines that you see are the print hammer hitting the page instead of the character. All of the letters are on the printwheel and they are on the ends of little fingers. The tips sometimes either get bent but they usually break. Replacing the printwheel should resolve your problem.

Using Canon mx310 with windows 8: The printer works fine EXCEPT the font quality

I have had this problem too. It only happens occasionally, and I have never really sorted it. I have made a test sheet with the same line (including some bold and some italic) copied some 15 times, starting with a 20 point font , and decreasing down to about 8 point (Times New Roman)
Print that a few times and see if any faults are repeated on each sheet. It may just be wear and tear.

I can't type the sharp sign (rather inconvenient for twitter) or that little wavy line. It should be the key between the single and double quotations and enter, but instead I get a backslash (\) or...

The sharp sign (#) is Shift + 3 on all standard QWERTY keyboards. and if you are referring to ~ being the little squiggly line, that is to the left of the 1 key on standard QWERT keyboards. If you have a DVORAK keyboard you will need to look elsewhere for documentation.

My pixma ip5000 printer had a paper jam and subsequently the print head seems to have gone out of alignment. It is printing in wavy lines instead of straight!! As I have 150 booklets to print by Friday I...

Hey!Go to printers and faxes on xp or printers in control panel and on the ip5000 picture, right click and go to the properties of the machine! It will open a window with tabs at the top!Click on maintenance and select print head alignment there! The machine will either do it manually or print a couple of pages where you need to select the correct value for each line! There is step by step instruction on what do to when you start doing it!Good Luck!!

When I print an excel page showing gridlines the lines are not straight but wavy and some of the numbers on the sheet are not visible

Cartridges are not alighned.
Remove one of the cartridges and insert it back.
The printer will print an alighment page. There are instructions on the page to place it on the scanner and to press the Scan button.
For alighment to be successful the printer has not to missing any ink.
Instead of removing and inserting a cartridge, you can use Maintenance tab in Printer preferencies to strat printhead alighment.

Hello,

Hi

Many brother type writers have two cam assemblies under ribbon holder. One operates the print hammer and the other operates the correction ribbon lift. sometimes they gets stuck or lock themselves up. turning on and off a few times will take care of it, but sometimes it needs to be worked on by a tech. If you look when you type a character, most likely the print hammer is not firing or it is striking the correction ribbon instead of the black ribbon.

Let us know if you want to know something more else please accept the suggestion.

Canon MP510 prints uneven lines.

I assume that you've cleaned the nozzles and alignment utility.  Try wiping the carriage bar with a lint free cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol. Also, the paper feed rollers may have collected some "goo" and should be cleaned with the rubbing alcohol. This should clear the problem.

The letters of the document when printed are wavy

Have you tried copying on the printer, will it also print wavy as well?

Because if you can copy fine and you cannot print properly using your printer it might be your computer. Why not use another application or program on your computer. In that case you can compare which has the issue.

Program such as MS Word, Powerpoint, Paint, Photoshop, etc
