Maybe that cartridge is low on ink, is faulty or the print head has become clogged? A ggod clean can resolve issues like this. I clean my printer with isopropyl internally on occassion

Try to "computer clean cycle" otherwise new color print cartridge unless there are separate cartridges for three colors.

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles. If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive. It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

Please go through the following steps to identify and fix the problem you are experiencing:

1. Open the printer cover.
2. Remove the cartridges. Check the cartridge area for any foreign objects or debris blocking the cartridge carrier.
3. Check behind the cartridge carrier for the encoder strip (transparent strip responsible for the movement of the carrier) and make sure it is seated and not loose in its place.
4. Close the printer cover.
5. Unplug / re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.
6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first. Then close the printer cover.
7. Check for any errors.
8. If none, reinsert the other cartridge.
9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear. You may also try to insert a different known working cartridge to identify if it's a faulty cartridge issue.
10. If cartridges are good and no error appears, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

If the problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

Try to delete the Lexmark Z715 print object from the Print and Fax on your Mac 10.4. Then, add a new Lexmark print object. After successfully adding a print job, try to print a document again to verify that printing is working properly now.

If you're printing B/W. Be sure "print color images in B/W is checked. Worked for me.
