what windows? it should be a setting, or a new software you have installed, but never heard of that in my life

this is feature of BIOS so go there turn it off for decades there. its a FEATURE. no PC model told no answers full

if it is a laptop I have had problems with the keyboard because al of sudden some of the keys stoped working. so I got a usb key board and pluged it in until I could order a new keyboard for the laptop

NO PC stated, why post to lacking that key fact.? even the mouse/kbd is not HP. but are posted to Compaq /HP. its a wireless keyboard, and like ALL things like that has batteries, or it can possibly work. the mouse batteries. The keyboard batteries. are bad. replace them.. and drivers to make the unstated PC work with this wireless module. if panicked. use a real keyboard, USB, any one you find works and uses NO BATTERIES to do so, same with the mouse. that is step one, step two are the drivers. if running xp or vista the drivers will not come from Microsoft as they once did, so getting them will be hard. NOW ! XP is a dead product. but again no PC stated, no OS stated, no real help here, full.

it is in a particular file or everywhere you are typing? if everywhere u are tping then press (function key ) fn+Numlock key for laptop. it will be correct if it is in a particular file then check the file format and another editor for opening the file.

no PC stated at all, ? (no OS stated? operation system is it windows 95?) is the jack purple as it must be PS2 keyboard. Green is PS2 mouse. so is this a HP PC (unstated) jacked in to a Packard bell PS2 keyboard. possible causes are:

1. bad keyboard, gee it's a relic how can it be good.
2. Windows, set to wrong country keyboard setting
3. Plugged into the Mouse jack green oops wrong. purple good.
4. Packard bell not using IBM codes for keys and will never work on any PC but the PB PC it came off of.use a real USB keyboard? for $3 and end this?

all HP keyboards, on all 1000s of HP products all have like 100 keyboards for 100 countries ? sure. if you read Service GUIDE you'd see that. (p/n for each one) yes, XP , we dont run XP here, in USA, 1% and falling fast. or get CYBER-ATTACKED, like in the news now in EU. see the news, why run this VIRUS MAGNET OS? but yes, XP needs to be setup to run all keyboards but XP is now dead now at HP for 3 long hears and at Microsoft dead for 3 long years , so how can one get language packs when dead. google is your only chance, and do know that doing that you will get infected. why not upgrade to VISTA. this old PC is 2002 made, its 15 years old and not supported now. we have 8 year newer ones sold for $20 used, in many used PC stores, even one with Window7 on it. why not upgrade to a w7 old pc. good luck finding any XP support now. id avoid that like the Plague, XP is DEAD, let it die now, it needs to badly. XP does not support all keyboards, a fact. the install only supports 38 languages vista is now dead, but 10x more safe. load VISTA and dump XP. the more new the OS, the more likely your old 15 year old chips are no supported, like for sure in windows 10. this old. win xp is no longer supported by microsoft so there could be a problem in the operating system you may be able to get to the control panel/settings and see if there is a keyboard section in properties that you can check compatibility or drivers

You have 2 Shift keys on the keyboard. If the other shift key is working then the shift key that is not working is defective. You should consider replacing the keyboard on your laptop. There is no setting on Windows that can disable the shift key.

**Note : If both Shift keys are not working, Try to check if sticky keys feature on windows is on. Sticky keys should be disabled. To disable sticky keys, Click on start and Go into control panel > Accessibility Options, and under keyboard there is sticky keys. Remove the tick and click apply and OK.



**If "Use Sticky Keys" is unchecked, that means sticky keys is disabled.

Troubleshoot keyboard entry's, some letter entry's don't show while typing.

This problem could be for many reasons , i would advice you the below steps to get the problem solved :-

Firstly , make sure that the filter keys are disabled on your system, To disable filter keys , you have to go in control panel , then select accessibility options , and then in accessibilty options you have keyboard tab.

Now in the keyboard tab you have a check box saying use filter keys, Please deactivate this option and select ok, this should resolve the problem.

If the above method does not work, then you need to do a hard reset of your system, this can be done in the below steps.

Remove the battery and any power supply connected to your device , and with no supply at all , press and hold the power button / key on your device for at least 1 min , make sure it is at least one minute.

If you do the above step this is called a hard - reset and in most of the cases it solves the problem, I wish it does that in your case as well.

If the above method does not work, then boot your compouter in safe mode or press F8 key while starting the computer , and then select last known good configuration options , and then this should ideally resolve the problem.

To Turn on/off Scroll Lock do one of the following: Press the Scroll Lock (sometimes appears as ScrLk) key on your keyboard. If your keyboard does not have a Scroll Lock key, on your computer, go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, Ease of Access, and then click On-Screen Keyboard.

It is usually Shift key/2 Key at the same time.

Don't you have a key with a padlock icon? That should be your scroll lock. If the color is not white, you may have to press first a function key with the same color as the padlock icon.

Remove printer driver, disconnect all wires from printer, Reinstall printer driver. Reconnect all wires set as default printer.
