Usb mouse not working

Solution is to re-install USB Root HUB > Make sure you disconnect all USB devices before you follow these directions. Use a PCI mouse and/or Keyboard to do the following. You may try using a USB mouse, but often times you'll uninstall your mouse's USB Root HUB before you completely uninstall all the other USB Root HUBs making your mouse useless. Follow the steps in the link over and over until all USB Root Hubs are uninstalled. Restart your PC and then slowly add one USB device at a time.

Side notes: Keep in mind if you have way too many USB devices you will need a Powered USB HUB. You can buy them cheap, and they are worth it. Often times folks plug more USB devices than their motherboard/power supply can handle or they rotate like 40 devices on one PC. Rotating is OK, but you might want to follow these steps to make sure your PCs USB is working OK.

My hard drive keeps disconnecting and then reconnecting angain.

if the drive is internal, then it's time for replace. it will disc/rec when overheating.

if the drive is external and powered by usb port (or usb hub) check if the port has enough power. and if the cable to HD is a Y cable (one side to hd and two to usb ports, one for data, one for power). and dont connect two peripherals that need power from usb on same pc, like a hd and a dvd, they will rob energy one from another, both mailfunctionating.

My Targus keeps disconnecting what is connected to it then will reconnect (seems random) anyone else having problems with disconnecting devices plugged into the hub? Model ACH7405US

This USB hub is not powered by an AC adapter. Therefore, some devices that need more power will not work well on it. You don't mention what it is you are pluggin into it, but I suspect this may be your problem. Devices like webcams pull way too much to be on a hub without AC.

Did I solve your problem? If so, please rate this. ty.

My hdd gets connected and after a few huors its disconnected and I can't re map it . need help in keeping it connected

Windows automatically puts USB connections into a power save mode, this will cause your USB connected devices to disconnect. Here are the instructions to change this setting in Windows XP. Pretty much the same process for Vista.
  1. In Windows, click on Start > Control Panel (or Start > Settings > Control Panel).
  2. Double-click on System, then open the Hardware tab.
  3. Click Device Manager.
  4. Click the + at Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
  5. Right-click USB Root Hub and select Properties.
  6. Open the Power Management tab.
  7. Clear the checkmark from Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Repeat this procedure for the USB 2.0 Hub.

Western Digital external USB 2.0 Problem

Buy an External USB 2.0 Hub with the 5.0V power supply. I have a TARGUS 4 Port Hub. MY WD2500XMSB works fine thru the HUB, but will not work using any cable (even the one that came with it) when directly connected to the USB port on my computer. The power consumption of passports sometimes exceeds the .5 milliwat rating for the ports and ccause the port power to interrupt (see USB 2.0 specifications). The external hubs with external power have a higher power output usually an can power the passport drives. CW Rumsey

My dynex usb hub is not working

You need to unplug the power adapter from the wall, and disconnect the usb cord from the PC/laptop for at least 30 seconds. Then plug everything back in. Apparently this model suffers from static electricity from time to time. I have this hub also and it works every time.

Power surge on hub port

Try this to find out which one of your components has an issue. Turn off your machine then unplug all of your USB cables. Turn your machine back on and plug in one of your USB cables. Verify the component you just plugged in works correctly and if it does plug in another cable and verify that component is working. Continue these steps until you have the one component that displays the error you have seen. That component is most likely the cause of your issue and should be replaced.

Good luck, Greased.

Rio s10

? Verify that the USB cable is securely inserted into the USB port on both the Rio Carbon and your computer. ? Connect the USB cable to a USB port on the back of your computer rather than to a USB port on the front of your computer. ? If using a USB hub, connect to a powered USB hub. Unpowered USB hubs may not work. ? Remove USB extension cables from the connection path. ? Disconnect other USB devices. ? Both Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) (or greater) and Windows Media Player 10 (WMP10) must be installed for your computer to detect a Rio Carbon set in MTP mode. ? If you do not want to install SP1 (or greater) and WMP10 on your computer you should disconnect the Rio Carbon and change the Transfer Mode setting to MSC mode. Good Luck
