123 Service Fuser Error - Lexmark C762 Colour Printer

You have to replace your fuser assembly. (Assembly 115V fuser) (40X3569)

I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support for further diagnosis.

Service Fuser Error appears when the fuser does not warm to the required temperature. For this error on this Lexmark model T632, the manual states you should power off the printer and power it back on, and if it is not plugged into a wall power point, change it to a power point mounted directly on the wall. Personally, I never got a Lexmark printer to work doing this, but this is in the manual. If this won't help, and the printer is under warranty, you should log it in with the servicing company.

If the printer is out of warranty, your next option is to change the fuser yourself which costs around $350, so I think you would be better off getting a new printer unless you find a second hand fuser on Ebay.

I searched the Technical Manual and there is no explanation of the code. The user manual simply says there is a printer failure. They ask that you turn the printer off, wait 10 secs and then restart. Then call 1-800-LEXMARK and they will tell you about the code.

Given that your printer is saying Service Fuser, it is highly likely the fuser is ready for replacement. The fuser is the component that heats to high temperature to fuse the toner to the paper and complete the print cycle.

You replace the ITU it has reached its end of life cycle.

921 Fuser Error and 922 Fuser Error messages indicate that the fuser unit failed to reach the standby temperature.

• If this is the first time you have seen the error, turn the printer off and on. Leave the printer off for at least 10 seconds before turning it back on. This gives the printer's engine board a chance to reset.
• If this is an intermittent error, you may want to check how the printer is plugged in, even if it has worked on this surge device for months. Make sure the printer is plugged straight to the wall and not through a surge device or power strip. Power strips and uninterrupted power supplies can cause a low amperage problem in your printer which can trigger a false fuser error.
• If this does not help or if this error appears every time the printer is powered on, you will probably need service on the machine.
