I had a paper jam, cleared it completely. Replaced all the ink cartridges and have turned it on a million times including the hard reset of removing data and power cords for ten minutes and then powering up. I get one green and six orange blinks,, which means paper jam but there is no jam and all the rollers are moving, what else should I check? Thanks for any help. michele

Thanks, tried all the maintenance options including cleaning the rollers. What I have found worked very well was to bin the printer and purchase an HP model!

These printers are FULL of very sensitive sensors, and chances are that one of them may have a small piece of paper blocking them. If you can get the covers off by finding the "Triangle" arrow markers, you can inspect all these sensors.
Good luck!!!

Could there possibly be:
A) Paper jammed internally: Power Off. Open the cover and remove the paper or scrap carefully. Do not touch the internal printer parts. Close the cover. Power on.
B) Foreign objects in printer: Power Off. Open the paper support and confirm that there is no foreign material in the auto sheet feeder. (If so, remove it by hand or with tweezers). Open the front cover and confirm that there is no foreign material in the unit. Avoid touching the inner workings of the machine.
C) Reset the printer:
1. Turn the printer off with the Power button
2. Disconnect the data cable from the printer
3. Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in. Attach data cable.
4. Turn the printer back on.
If all of these suggestions fail, your iP1600 may require repair service. Please note: With the suggested retail price of $29.99 USD, repair does not seem cost effective - you could just go out and purchase a new printer.
Canon Pixma IP5000 kept giving the blinking yellow light 3 times. Could not find anything. I tried the manila folder forcing a manila folder in on power up through the top feeder as suggested for another Canon Pixma. The folder kind of jammed and pushed it back out of the feeder. And out came a small piece of postit. Couldn't see it so it was somewhere inaccessible and unviewable. The bigger paper was enough to loosen and expel it with the manila folder. I'm guessing the people who put the higher mil (thicker) paper through, clear what ever is causing the problem even if they don't see what is ejected or forced out. Don't know if this will work for you but it thats what happened and the printer works fine now.
