20 Most Recent Canon PIXMA iP5000 InkJet Photo Printer Questions & Answers

You know, I think this is the most common problem in all Canon Printers and yet Canon must do something about this. In my case I already have 3 Canon Printers The first 1 is Canon Pixma MP160 and the problem is "The Ink absorber is Full" then my 2nd is Canon Pixma MP145 still the same problem occurs my 3rd is MP145 also and I know sooner or later I will be facing the same problem.

Sometimes I think the Canon's Printer is Disposable it won't last for a long time. I just hope I can find the right solution to this problem, so that i can fix my printers. I have lost 2 already and maybe sooner the other one will follow.

Every time I have had problem have had to replace ink.

You can wash the ink absorber under warm water,dry it out and put it back.Usually you have to restart your printer too

Unable to advise about part availability, but.. This is a very mucky job and requires printer to be almost fully dismantled. This can be done if you are good with this sort of thing. Then all waste ink would need to be washed out with water, pads fully dried and then rebuild printer.

The problem may be the lever that presses on the spring is not making contact when the output tray is open. But when you press on the tray it moves just enough to make enough contact so it operates. That contactor is just visible through the little opening. It may be possible to bend it carefully, ever so slightly until it works the way it supposed to. Also shine a bright light into the opening and see if the plastic part of the tray is not broken. I don't think that it should affect CD printing (if you jumped the switch) because the tray needs to be open to access the CD tray. So if the microswitch does not contact the tray nothing will work. Remember the doctor should look down the patients throat before he removes the tonsils

This is Printhead problem. The nozzles are blocked so it does not print the colors, Try replacing the Printhead

Check the ink cartridge level and perform the test print.Verify the data cable connection.

For canon you need to install the CAPT driver. Make sure you have done that. If it doesn't work try clearing your spooler file which may be causing problems. Look up guides to do that. It would be better if you could clarify what error it is.
