LSU error Hi, Can anyone provide me the fix for LSU error. Even when i try to print a test page it says "LSU error". I have searched many tech forums but I dont find any solutions. I would appreciate if any come with permanent fix.

2. Solve print quality problem "Poor fusing (loose toner)" for Canon IRC-4580 printer. How to fix print quality problem loose toner
Description loose toner: Toner is not properly fixed on paper, use to hand rubbing lightly on the printed image toner powder may be stick in hand
Error location: toner cartridge or fuser unit

Cause of error "Dark Image or black" on the printed page:

When toner cartridge is empty. You toner refilled by toner powder ware not compatible. This is makes toner cartridge components demaged and temperature of fuser unit is not enough melt to toner powder

- Bad contact caused by the toner dirty between the high voltage terminal in the HVPS and the one in the set
- Abnormalities output from the HVPS

- Disable toner save by change in printer driver.
- Toner refill toner cartridge Canon IRC-4580 and reset toner cartridge chip (replace new chip) or replace new genuine toner cartridge.
- Replace the OPC drum.
- Replace developer.
- After printer is power on, wait 30 minutes then start printing
- Clean up the contact between the high voltage terminal in the HVPS and the one in the se- Replace the new HVPS if the problems are not solved by 4 away above.

Description: Ghost occurs intervals of the OPC drum or transfer roller.

LSU stands for Laser Scanning Unit. An LSU Error means there is a problem with your laser scanner, the part that helps create your prints. There could be a problem with the laser, polygon mirror, sensor, etc. that needs to be fixed. In the User's manual it says to:
Turn power off and wait 10 seconds. Turn power on. If the problem persists, call for service.

If powering it off then on fails, you will need to have it looked at by a service tech to fix it. It may need a new laser unit or control board.

The error would be stating LSU. It stands for Laser Scanning Unit.
The LSU error signifies that there is an issue with the laser scanner, the part that helps making prints.
There could be an issue with the laser or perhaps the polygon mirror, maybe the sensor or a combination of these that needs to be fixed.

In the User's manual it is stated:
To turn off power and wait for 20 seconds. Then turn on the power again.

If the problem is still there then you will need to call for service.
The service tech will recommend a new laser unit or control board.

The LSU error stands for Laser Scanner Unit error. The probable cause/s:

The Polygon motor in the LSU does not rotate.
The LSU’s laser beam is functioning properly.

What you can do:

Try to unplug the machine for a couple of minutes or maybe a little longer and then plug everything back in. Power on and then test.

LSU stands for Laser Scanner Unit ... you normally get 2 different kind of errors with LSU ...
LSU Hsync or LSU Motor Error ...
If you get this error, it means that the Laser Scanner Unit has gone bad and the only way to get it fixed is to get the printer repaired ...

Hi,
Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry.
Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print.
Also make sure that you have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job.
Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..

• Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
• Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
• restart the computer
• try to download drivers from the website
• after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
• then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.

The LSU is the Laser Scanning Unit or "printhead". There is a mirror in there that spins really fast, if the mirror spins too slowly (bad motor, low voltage) it gives an error. Sounds like you would need a replacement LSU. Have the printer serviced.

if it's a vertical line in scanned pictures, it's probably a dust bunny on the scanner head, if it's only on printed pages, it's probably a dust bunny on or in the laser assembly or between the laser and the photosensitive drum. if cleaning doesn't get rid of it, you could have a defective scanner head or laser assembly, or a scratch on the photosensitive drum.
