Could a blown fuse cause a microwave to not heat, fan not turn and turnable not rotate

Not likely. More likely it's a bad door switch or door switch mount. On Sharps and those made by Sharp (Dacor, Wolf, Viking, Electrolux, etc.) it's usually the bottom door switch.See this handy help file on door switches. If you need further help, please reply back or post a new help request which includes your full model number and the symptoms you mentioned above.

My Jenn-air micro/convection oven runs, but

Hi

This means a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance. Daniel

Just wondering if I can

On the convection setting it's just a regular fan oven, so you can safely use metal.

Neither of these are a typical Jenn-Air model number. http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/product_literature/search.jsp?siteCd=JA_EN_US suggests that the model number is on the back wall under the burner on the right side of a drop-in cooktop. For a range the model number is often on the frame inside the oven door, below the vent or on the back of the top of the range.

87946 or 87847 are the part numbers for the cartridges (the elements or the surrounding housing).

Look at the model number locations at the "Help me find my model number" link and try to locate a model number on your range. Then enter that model into the search box. The manual is probably available with the correct part number. Most Jenn-air electric cooktops start with JEC in their model number.

I hope this helps you locate the manual.

Won't heat

If you hear an unusual buzzing noise, the magnetron (the component that actually generates the microwaves) or other electronic module may be broken. This is not easily fixed; contact a service technician.

Quite often this is due to a bad door switch located inside behind the area where the door hooks go into the oven.

Opening the door while cooking (without first hitting the STOP pad) is the primary cause of door switch failure.

I have a text file on my Web site called "doorsw.txt" which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems, and a file called "safety.txt" which is of vital importance.

You can check my profile for the Web link to find them.

In some cases, the problem is a bad connection or a bad relay on the control board. That's something we see from time to time, and we repair those nationwide for $32.50, but it's usually a door switch.

If you still have a problem, please repost with more detail

My Jenn-aire microwave says locked

Most likely you set a child lock (front panel lock) by holding a button too long (3 seconds). Without a model number, I can't be absolutely sure of the keypad lock for your Jenn-Aire microwave. Usually, the key will have a small padlock icon on it. Press and hold this key. On my microwave you press and hold Start to toggle the lock off.

On a Jenn-Aire JMW2430 and similar models, the Button Lock is activated by a several step process (More and Button Lock). However, pressing and holding the Start button will deactivate it.

I hope this helps.
