I've a neff built in

Hi.

The problem is probably the anti flood system. If the anti-flood system detects water inside the appliance it will start the drain pump instead of running through the cycle. In some case a defective control module can result in a similar problem.

There are several parts that can trigger overflow:

1) Overfill float switch.
2) Pressure switch.
3) Aquastop anti-leak device.

The float switch can be tested by jumping the switch contacts. The pressure switch is difficult to test, just clean drain system and hose connected to pressure switch. Check if there is water in the aquastop device and check device contacts. The aquastop is part 507-510-501 (assembly 512) in the diagram below:

Dishwasher not emptying and tap

Hi,

I am sorry to hear regarding the trouble.

Have you tried to reset the machine?

Disconnect the power supply for few minutes, say 15 minutes and then turn it ON. This would usually soft reset the machine and any funny glitches that might be there.

If problem remains unresolved, you need to have the side panel off and you need to check the red float bar. When you lifted it up did it drain out then?

If not, was there a humming noise?

If yes, more likely it's an issue with the drain pump.

If the pump is running and you could see water moving with the door open, then what this is is a leak in the base so the anti flood has been actived. To clear it you will need to either pull machine out and tip it 45 degs backwards to drain the water out from the base.

Or if you take the inspection panel off at the bottom on the front you will be able to use a sponge to soak the water out of the base.

Then once the base is cleared up then anti-flood will reset itself and should start to work again.

Then just see how it goes from there.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Dishwasher is switched on and

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or back feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET valve to open up and allow water to flow into. If this does not happen then the voltage at the inlet valve must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor .

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water .

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

Neff dishwasher water pressure not

Remove the bottom strainers plates and make sure that there is nothing obstructing the pipe or the pump or selector valve. If possible back flush through the outlet pipe and try draining the machine again before using it again.

No water intake

Hi

When the Dishwasher is not filling in, you'll need to check for the water inlet valve, the filter screen and the float switch/assembly. Also check for the float assembly inside the dishwasher. When water is filling your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. As the float reaches a certain threshold level, it shuts off the flow of water, thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling. Sometimes it can happen due to float valve and on other occasions due to float switch. Inspect the water hose coming to the dishwasher for any blockages.
If these are fine then it's due to Water Inlet Valve. Use a multimeter and check for the continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly.

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Neff Dishwasher S5444X1GB/08. How do

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

In regards to your post "How do you remove pump cover from inside" none of the circulation pump nor drain pump components are serviceable from the sump area of the tub, it must be done from underneath...depending on what it is you need to do of course and the model number is correct.

The only cover in the sump area is for the drain pump impeller cover ( see 2nd image below ) at the 9o'clock position, the 3o'clock position is the wash impeller access, ( see 1st image below ) but virtually no service can be performed through either location...other than inspection perhaps.

1
macmarkus_265.jpg
Once the drain impeller cover is removed ( a single #20 torx head screw ) you can inspect the drain impeller, i.e.

2

If you share with me exactly what it is you think needs attention or service I may be able to help you move forward.

Let me know and we'll go from there. Good luck.

Not filling with water

Check that your supply faucet is open, Check if there is a screen in the supply line, these can become blocked due to scale deposits from the mains. If there is no screen check that the inlet solenoid valve has not got blocked. If none of the above help, check that there is power getting to the solenoid valve when the machine is supposed to be on the fill cycle. If no power is getting to the valve, the timer might be faulty. (You can try hand filling the machine and see if it goes through a cycle, at least up to the rinse stage, this will tell you if the timer control is working).

I have a NEFF dishwasher

Hi
The smell usually comes when the unit is unable to drain water completely, you can run your dishwasher at its hottest temperature setting with 1 cup of vinegar inside the unit. After this take off the bottom front panel and clean it completely, also clean the drain hose and drain pump filter, the smell should disappear after doing all this. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Model S4140G0GB. No power,

Hi.

If the problem was the fuse you would not get any power at all. If the light is dim it usually means that the electronic control module is defective. In some case a wiring problem can also cause the same effect. Testing is done reading voltages at the timer/control module contacts. For safety reasons testing with power on must be done by a repair technician.
Note: the part is quite expensive. I suggest contacting Neff service number available on the manual and booking a repair visit, rather than just replacing the part. You also have two years warranty on labour, and you may have up to ten years on some part (usually 5). Call to verify.

Here the control assembly: CONTROL UNIT

Water wont drain, i have

Hi,

Does your drain pump have a fan on the back or not?

There were two types fitted.
It certainly sounds like the drain pump has failed if everything else works.
If you have a meter you can test for continuity of the pump. If its open circuit you will need to replace it.
Alternatively you can make up a test lead and apply 240v directly to the pump. Again, if it doesn't run you will need to replace it.

The hoses are very tight.

There could be few more reasons, however on this brand and the symptoms you mentioned are highly suggestive of a problem with drain pump.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

My neff dishwasher is not

Hello

Water inlet valve is responsible for filling water in your dishwasher, when that goes bad either the dishwasher wont fill at all or will fill the water slowly. Please check the inlet screens and also try to clean the water lines for any clogs/obstructions. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Dishes do not clean

There are many probable causes of failure .

To clean the dishes the water temperature is essential. It the water is not hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly. So check the water temperature.

Also check the filter in your dishwasher.

If you are in an hard water zone , then try reducing the amount of detergent used and then try cleaning the dishes.
