GE Profile PT916SM1SS will not heat up past 290

Hi, please check that the oven isn't leaking heat into another area. Or maybe your settings need some calibration or the temperature sensor for the oven is off by 60 degrees. If this is the case, changing the temperature setting to 410 should bring the internal temperature to 350 degrees. Please try this. Thank you.

I've replaced the broiler element on my GE oven and checked the ohms on the temperature sensor, what else would cause the broiler element to not work.

Switch Wiring. Faulty new element. are the most likely causes.

The inside glass on my GE Model # GFW450SSM1WW Serial AR203595T shattered. Is this common and what's the correct replacement part #

Most of the time, the washer door glass only breaks after being hit by hard objects in the laundry. (Sometimes repeated hits do it.) This includes belt buckles or coins. Remember the spin cycle will transfer momentum to the items in the washer. These items will not slow down as quickly as the drum. Then they can bounce off the wall into the glass before they lose that momentum. The current part number for the glass is WH46X10286; there are plenty of vendors with the window available. See https://www.searspartsdirect.com/product/5id43b2toa-0026-363/id-wh46x10242 for the original part number. (Most manufacturers will change the part number at intervals without changing the part's mounting arrangement. Thus it works with your machine.) I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

When did GE stop making Model JKP38G wall oven please?

Finding end of production dates are impossible to find. Start of production is a lot easier because you can check reviews. You would have to ask GE direct. https://www.google.com/search?q=%22Model+JKP38G%22+wall+oven+end+of+production ..

Mine is an older model GE-built-in self clean oven JKP26.

Question edited to combine two posts into one. Dupe deleted. My advice to you is to never use the Self Clean feature. We see issues here all the time. But it is up to you, it helps the companies sell spares and keeps service techs in a job. It least it not a Gaggenau or a Miele where parts cost $2,000 to $5,200!! Ovens stuck in self-clean mode Door Locks broken and locked so you can't get in. Burned out elements. Burned out fans. Burned control boards. Pages 19-22 in the manual refers. https://www.geappliances.com/content/older-pdfs/49-8568.PDF 932 F° is just too harsh an environment! A self-cleaning oven is a feature on many modern ovens that burns off cooking spills and splatters with an extremely high temperature (932 F° or 500 C°) to aid in cleaning. Jan 29, 2020
