It seems like the control panel is malfunctioning. The censorfor external vent fan may not work due to faulty control panel. You need toreplace the control panel, so that microwave will work properly. Replacing anERC is not a difficult repair and can be accomplished by the average do-it-yourselfoffer. The description of the sound lead to burn of the high voltage diode part no 50. Alsoafter this the fuse will also blow out part no 47 at the parts diagram.
In anycase their will need also diagnostic to confirm the diode and fuse or any other parts.

There is a fuse right above the control panel, you need to remove the top vent then remove the 1 screw holding the control panel on.lift up the control panel and you should be able to access the area where the fuse is.

It all depends on the model number, which you did not mention, so a generic answer is the best we can do.

Some models have customer-accessible covers to allow for replacement of bulbs, some do not. The owner's manual will show you that.

If it's not mentioned in the manual, then you have to remove the outer cover.

If that's the case, on an over the range model, it will have to be removed from the wall first.
