Unfortunately, Delonghi, for whatever reason, does not post the Owner's Manuals for their Dehumidifiers online. However, if you call Delonghi Customer Support 800-322-3848 they can furnish one to you. Probably by email attachment.

No moisture removal. This
Wayne, the filter may be in one of two places.
1. Turn the unit OFF & unplug it.
2. Remove the bucket from the holder. Look up inside the holder, just in front of the louvers and you may see a plastic pull tab type handle. This will be the handle to the filter frame. Pull it down and out of the unit. Since it sounds like it has never been cleaned, wash it in warm water and dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly and allow to completely dry, before reinstalling it. NEVER operate the unit without the filter in place, as it could cause damage to the unit
2. If the filter was not located in step 1, on the right side of the unit, just behind the louvers, there may be a pull open trap door. Flipping that door open, will give you access to the filter and it's removal. Clean it as described above.
The above are the only 2 places I know of, that the filter can be located in on a Delonghi
Dehumidifier. Unless, your unit is over 10 years old. In any event, I hope this helped you.

I am not getting any
There are 5 basic, but solvable reason for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 5. Especially, since, yours is a basement application.
1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%.
2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.
3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.
4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.
5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air
temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder level
in basement applications. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.
If
none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the
compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity condenser sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are
5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it
can happen.
Hope this helps you to troubleshoot & solve the problem.

Can i use the dehumidifier
Emma, your dehumidifier doesn't have a heater. I think you are confusing the Thermometer button as a heater. The Thermometer button is for setting the the ambient air temperature in the room, the unit is running in. It doesn't change the temperatue in the room one way or another. It's not necessary to set it, unless you're operating the dehumidifier in a basement. That's the only time it would affect the unit's performance.
I hope this helped you.

My DeLonghi Portable Dehumidifier Model
Hello,
First, make sure the reservoir is empty. If you plug the unit in and
see a green power light, but the unit won't run, make sure the
reservoir is properly inserted. Many dehumidifiers have switches or
sensors to make sure that the reservoir is placed so that it won't
leak. Look for these sensors and make sure the reservoir is engaging
them. If your dehumidifier has a float or switch to indicate a full
reservoir, make sure this switch isn't being tripped accidentally.
Good luck.

DEM 10 Delonghi Dehumidifier has Stopped
Hi,
First, make sure the humidistat isn't set too high by adjusting it to
the lowest humidity setting and running it again. Next, test the
dehumidifier by placing it in a closed bathroom with a hot shower
running. If you don't see water collecting in the unit after several
minutes, turn the unit off and clean all dehumidifier filters and
coils. If, after adjusting the settings and cleaning the unit, you
still don't see water collecting, you may have a refrigeration issue.
This situation will have to be addressed by a qualified technician.
Take care.

Delonghi DH400p dehumidifier running but not
Hey, I had the same thing with mine.
First, try cleaning out your filter if you haven't already. It gets angry if it can't get any air.
If not, I don't know how brave you are, but I ripped mine apart to fix the problem. I took off the panel with the filter (5 screws) and you can see a collection tray with another little collection gutter under that. Both of mine were filled with junk, mostly dust that had gotten wet to make this awesome disgusting sludge. If you can get at it from there, try to clean the sludge out of the collection tray and the little gutter. I ended up taking my whole unit apart so I can get the collection tray out (dumb design, you have to take apart the whole dang casing to get at two screws that hold the collection tray in).
Good luck!

New Delonghi Dehumidifier,5 gal:When units beeps
It should resart on its own after putting the empty bucket back in. The beep is to let you know that the bucket full and it shuts off the humidifier until the bucket is emptied and put back into the proper position.
