How will towing a new 5th Wheel with 1994 7.3L IDI (non powerstroke) Turbo Diesel be?

About to buy a pretty big 5th wheel... 12.5K lbs. Pin weight will be 2500. I'm told the pin weight is not a problem at all. Pull weight... I'm not sure. I've got the heavy duty automatic in my truck. I don't need to go uphill fast... But am I going to be ok with this setup? I towed a smaller 5th wheel with no problem except some slowing on steep grades (to be expected). Thanks!

You have plenty of truck to tow that thing around. I would have the 20 year old tranny serviced and ask the transmission shop if its going to hold up to the pressure.

I have a 2006 chev duramax diesel. It is chipped with banks 6 pack and will stall after running fine for an hour towing a trailer

Not sure I get the description of issue,, the bang is confusing,, I would check to be sure the fuel filter is not lose or the housing is not sucking air. Keep in mind that with your increased fuel used for the tune you are elevating your egt the turbo and the exhaust are likely getting excessive heat while towing. By the way this is not a good thing. I would install a egt sensor and keep a close eye on it.

My trailer says 7100 lbs unladed weight and 9400 gross weight will a pick yp truck that has a 5.3 v8 motor pull this

My 4.7 liter V8 on my Jeep Commander pulls that just fine. However, I do have the separate cooling system for the transmission to keep the extra weight from overheating the trans. I also have a TOW button that re-gears the transmission lower. The BIG question is what is your vehicle rated to STOP. My Jeep has a full towing package and is rated for a heavy weight like this. It has HUGE rotors on the 4-wheel disk brakes.

I have a 2009 D40 Nissan Navara double cab. 5th wheel dealers constantly tell me that my truck will pull whatever it is that they wish to sell. I would love someone to tell me just what my Navara will be...

2009 NISSAN NAVARA RX D40 DUAL CAB P/UP 5 SEATS, 4X4, DIESEL TURBO F/INJ, 5 SP AUTOMATIC
» Release Date: Jan-2005
» Max. Torque: 403Nm @ 2000rpm
» Max. Power: 128kW @ 4000rpm
» Power to Weight Ratio: 15.08:1 kW/kg
» Fuel Type: DIESEL
» Fuel Consumption: City(10.5L/100km)
» Dimensions: L(5220mm), H(1895mm), W(1774mm)
» Towing Capacity: Brake(3000kg), Unbrake(750kg)
» Turning Circle: 13.3m

as you can see you can tow us to 3000kg or 6600 lbs IF the trailer has its own brakes and 750 kg is it doesn't.

Uhaul will not rent you a trailer to haul anything close to what the maximum towing rate your vehicle is listed at.

Cant find fuel pump shut-off switch for 1994 ford f250 deisel 2 wheel drive

which diesel eng does the truck have? If its the powerstroke it is located on the firewall, if it is the non-powerstroke(IDI) engine it does not have one as the fuel pump is mechanical.

Towing capacity of 91 chevy

It depends on if it is an automatic or manual, 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive, but I would say no more than 5,000 lbs. just to be on the safe side
