WHEN I TURN THE KEY JUST CLICKS HAS NEW STARTER NEW SOLENOID NEW BATTERY
Is your new battery fully charged? Maybe you need to go slow with a step-by-step process.
The most common cause of a non-starting car is the battery. It is either weak, (low voltage) dead, (zero voltage) or has bad connections. (corroded or loose) I will assume you have a fully charged battery with good connections. (both to battery and starter relay)
If you remove the starter switch lead (small wire) from the starter relay and apply +12v from the battery to its respective prong or lead on the relay, and your starter cranks, your starter switch is faulty. (not to be confused with your key switch). If you jump the two large wires together on the relay and it cranks, then the relay is faulty. If you jump the two large wires together and nothing happens, then starter is faulty, or wires to starter are loose or broken. Picture of starter switch prong on the relay is pictured. NOTE: sparks are to be expected, so don't be too scared.
Parking lights wont turn on
check if the ground wire is connected in front of the truck where the engine bay is if ground wire is not connected the lights will not work
NO SPARK 89 4.9 NEW COIL PIP AND CONTROL MODUAL STILL NO SPARK
Check to see if you have power going to the coil. You can get a Powerbox diagram free by registering your vehicle on Autozone.com.
You also may be able to switch the relay with the horn relay if they are the same part number. Then you can test the bad relay with the horn or just use the horn relay in place of the ignition relay.
Where is the fuel pump
more then likely it is in the fuel tank. turn the key to acc. and listen carefully for a humming or vibration. if all is silent your pump is not working
I have rebuilt a ford
I would start by checking the starter solenoid. It sounds like it might be stuck or wired incorrectly.
I have an 87 f350 with a 460 motor i want to swap the cab from a 1993 f150 with an inline six cyl how do i wire the coil, and starter up ??
your going to run into more hurdles than just the starter and coil.however the starter you can wire the cellinoid to the ignition and just run a power lead to your battery. the coil you can easily run to a standalone ignition system such as an msd or mallory setup. you may want to look into a painless wireing harness, you can find them online, they can make you anything you need and it will be a plug and play setup, no head scratching needed. and the underhood will look clean rather than a rats nest of unused wires and random wires running here and there.
