Easy fix is sometimes the "circuit breaker" in the inside fuse panel, on GM products they are likely silver colored and pull out and plug in just like a fuse. Some car makers have the diagram inside the fuse cover which makes it convenient to see which fuse or breaker applies to the defogger. you can switch identical cir.brkr.s with each other to see if then it operates. then get a new one from your parts store. I switch the power seat relay with the rear defrogger relay and this confirms my check before spending any money. good luck keith

Rear brake lights do not work.

The brake light that is on the dash is for the emergency brake...When that light is on that is supposed to tell you that the emergency brake is applied if the brake is not applied then you need to service the emergency brake. And on the brake pedal there is a coupler that is hooked up to the pedal bracket that wire may be soft set try gently snapping it into place.

Rear brake lights inop...3rd brake light works fine...

Switch module in steering column will need to be replaced or the brake switch itself at the pedal. There was actually a recall for the pedal switch that came out in early 02 Usually the switch in the column about $125.00 at the aftermarket parts stores
