How do I remove alarm brain box from wiring on a
"I bypassed the immobilizer circuit only on my alarm module (which is really tedious). Bypassing the whole
module is possible (and little easier), but you will lose the use of the remotes and the ability to arm the alarm.
The alarm module in my '97 900 SETC is located under the carpet, below the driver's power seat switches (a
pain to get at).
If you want to bypass the module completely:
1. Disconnect the battery (make sure you know the radio code-if needed)
2. Unplug the connector from alarm module and remove module from car
3. Install a wire jumper between pin 8 and pin 20 in the connector
4. Install a wire jumper between pin 9 and pin 21 in the connector
5. Install a wire jumper between pin 10 and pin 22 in the connector
6. Wrap securely with electrical tape
If you want to bypass the immobilizer circuit only:
1. Disconnect the battery (make sure you know the radio code-if needed)
2. Unplug the connector from the alarm module
3. Cut the following wires from the back of the connector and splice together as follows (Don't cut the wires too
close to the connector, because someday down the road you may want install a new module, so you'll have to
reverse this process):
4. Cut the wires to pin 8 and pin 20 and splice together w/ wire nut
5. Cut the wires to pin 9 and pin 21 and splice together w/ wire nut
6. Cut the wires to pin 10 and pin 22 and splice together w/ wire nut
7. Secure all with electrical tape
8. Reconnect the connector to the module
Not knowing the details of your problem, please be aware that this may, or may not, solve it. Good luck and let
me know how you make out."
1997 Saab 900 Convertible check latches
Tighten the dash latches , 1 turn at a time, until it goes away. They back out sometimes (until people realize this code comes on, then they are more careful)
How to replace 1997 saab 900 2.0 keyfob battery
Takes a standard sized flat battery, you can do it yourself...go to thesaabsite.com to find procedure.
Basically you put the new battery in, get within 10 feet of the car and hold down one of the buttons for like 5 seconds. I have done this with my 97 900, both fobs, and they work just fine.
Saab 900se turbo code po455
A code p0455 most likely means one or more of the following has happened: A loose or improperly affixed gas cap, A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand) , Other leak or damaged piece in EVAP system.
Make sure you click at least 3 times when closing gas cap to seal tight, and the seal on the cap may be worn...common issue. The code will go away after a bit (next test cycle) if this is it and you have tightened.
The car is old...do some PM and change out the vac hoses. Less than 10 feet total. Do yourself a favor and get silicon lines, you'll never need to do it again. Takes a half hour at the most. Same deal..code will reset after next test cycle if this was the trick.
Still cant get it fixed...may need to smoke test it...or blow some cigar smoke into system yourself and watch for where it comes out...change that chunk. (If you do the previous and change em all. you likely wont come to this point. If you dont...you'll be back doing this again)
Worst case...your evap purge pump is on the fritz. Easy to change and not terribly expensive as Saab parts go.

Tonneau cover motor clicks but does not lift
There is a small gear on the tonneau lift motor that has stripped out...pretty common failure. The gear is available, but an aggravation to change and some small pieces are no longer avail. Has happened to mine...get a rebuilt motor on ebay for under a hundred bucks, have your local saab guy put it in and recalibrate the roof at the same time as it has likely tweaked itself when it stripped.
Where is 97 saab fuel pump 2dr coupe
In the tank. On some, like the 97 900se, the hole and cover in the trunk for accessing the pump do not line up with the hole and float/pump assembly unit in the tank itself and the tank has to be dropped to get to it. A bit of a design oversight there...
