My car makes a tic/click

No a fuse would have completely blown out the lights making them unusable. I had a similar issue in my altima where the lights would flicker and I had to replace the alternator. Good luck.

Hi.

A short like the one that you described can easily fry one of the control modules. Near to the radiator there are wires that go straight to the ECM, which may have been damaged by the short. You have probably hit a part of the engine harness.

Before doing anything else, try disconnecting battery cable for five minutes. This will drain power from circuits, and sometimes can fix a jammed control module. See if this can fix some of the problems. While power is off check also the two connectors wired to the ECM, ensure that they are well in place.

You will unlikely get all those problems at once because of a single blown relay.
The door lock, windows and gauges in the instrument panel may all fail at once because different fuses in the in-car fuse compartment have all blown all at onece. You will need to replace any blown fuse in the fuse compartments. Replace all fuses and check Fuel pump relay, Ignition Relay and Accessory relay. Check if blower motor is working. Eventually replace also the blower relay.Relay of same kind can be tested by swapping them. Relays are otherwise tested using a volt-meter or a multi-meter.

Here a diagram showing parts location.

Here fuse map.

Click on the links, and than click again on the pictures to enlarge them. Eventually print the pictures.

If all the steps described above do not help, then the ECM may have been damaged. In that case the part (which is a computer) is tested connecting a diagnostic scan reader to the ECM port (this car is OBDII).

Try first checking all fuses and relays and and connect back battery. If you have auto transmission, ensure also that the transmission is OK before putting the car back on road.

Wat does o/d off mean

IT indicates your Overdrive is turned off. There should be a switch near the shifter or button that you push to activate it unless it is malfunctioning then you will need to have the transmission serviced.

Did you replace the radiator cap? Surprising enough a bad cap can affect the flow of coolant and can cause air to get in to the system which can cause a car to overheat. It can also keep the fans from coming on. Hope this helps please leave comment.

My car wont start u just hear it trying to start

Assuming this is what I think it is one solution for the while is to get someone to push it for a while then as its moving get it to engage, works particularly well with a manual car. Otherwise try to get a pair of jump leads from a shop and borrow your neighbours car to try it that was, there are loads of things that could be wrong so seriously consider taking it to a mechanic, a small problem now could be much cheaper than fixing something bigger that breaks because of whats gone wrong at the moment. Hope it helps Dave

Coolant leaking from under car

check the hoses that are coming from the radiator, If they are ok that mean you could have a bad Water pump as its highly recomanded to change the water pump every 60.000/90.000 miles .

So try to do this : start your car and look underneath and see if the water is leaking fron bellow the engine . And also the engine block Freeze Plugs gets bad soemtimes and they leaks water as you cann see an exemple of them the picture. Hope this helps you solve your proble and good luck.

WHERE IS LOCATED THE KNOCK

knock sensor is located just above the oil filter. you need to get under the car to see it. IAC valve is located on r/h side of engine that one is very hard to desribe as far as its location. its kinda onder the upper intake so you cant really see it. its on the underside of the intake manifold on r/h side on the back of the cylinder head. you should see small green connector going to it. the connector has 2 wires goin to it. you will also see a flat head screwdriver slot, that is for you to put your screwdriver into it to adjust base idle. good luck.

Hello, I own a 1998 Altima (GXE). 160 000 km. For

First thing is the that the coolant temperature sensor is quite different to the temperature sender that is monitored on your dash board. Assuming everything is working fine the thermostat may be stuck open. This would cause coolant to be circulated without restriction and so remaining cooler than usual even when the engine is at running temperature.

I have a 1998 Nissan Ultima that wont start

If this problem is rare then it can be the starter to battery connection issue. But if this problem is regular then it can be fuel related problem.Get the fuel pressure checked. If its checked low then the fuel pump as well as fuel filter needs to be checked and replaced. There are also few other possibilities a broken timing belt, an inoperative cam sensor or crank sensor. Also this problems are related to faulty spark plug. Check the spark at spark plugs when you start the car. Do you notice any spark. Actually you should see. If in case there is no spark then it's a spark plug problem. Also the coil pack gives power to spark plug. So check the voltage at coil pack. It will show 12 volt.If there is no voltage noticed at coil pack then its faulty coil pack that has to be replaced. If all the possible options checked out ok then check the car starter. The starter gets power from battery to start the care. If the starter is faulty then it will not let the car to start. Also check and confirm that there is fuel in the car. If it very low fuel then in some cases this causes the problem. Also check and confirm that fuel pump is functioning properly and the fuel filter is not clogged. One of the easiest ways to check for a fuel pump related problem is to spray a little starting fluid into the air intake while trying to start the car. If the car starts momentarily, then there's a good chance the fuel pump is not working or the car is out of gas. You can also listen for the fuel pump's humming sound when the key is first turned on. Also if a inoperative fuel pump is suspected, a good technician will always check to verify there is power and ground being supplied to the pump, to eliminate the possibility of a bad relay or electrical issue. Fuel pressure can be checked with a pressure gage and if there is pressure, pulse can be checked at the fuel injectors in several ways including the most common, with the use of noid lights. If the injectors don't have pulse the engine won't start. ---------- This troubleshooting tips will help you to solve the problem.Thanks.Helpmech.
