How to get the check engine light to go off
The only proper way to do that is to fix the problem that is causing the check engine light (fault codes). Take your car to any major parts store...Checker or Autozone for example. They will plug into your computer and read any fault codes that it might be producing. There should be no cost for you to do this. They should be able to give you the codes, and tell you what the code says might be causing the problem. This is a good start if you are mechanically saavy....If not you'll end up having to go to a repair shop, but at least you will have the code information to back up their suggested repairs to the car.

Radiator does not build pressure
check the cap to ensure that its not broken. if you suspect the cap to be bad--replace it. if you find the cap to be good, look for leaks from your radiator. if you find no leaks. replace your water pump. before you do all that though, check your coolant level.

These are a scam. and what's worse they can cause severe spark knock in hot summer climates, this in turn can damage the pistons and require very expensive repairs. Also they will void both the basic warranty on the powertrain and the US Federal emission warranty. As to what they really are, they are no more than a 20 cent resistor, there is no "chip", the computer reads the resistance of a piece of heated wire as it cools and heats it can determine how much air is going into the engine based on throttle position sensor input, IAT stands for "Intake Air Temperature". Take it back and get you money back.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

The fan running is normal. you need to find where the coolant is leaking. If there are no visable leaks. then suspect the radiator/reservoir cap.

I had this same problem with my altima and it had jumped time. you will need to take it to a garage and have the timing belt/chain and gears replaced. with any luck it didn't damage the timing cover cover. I replaced mine myself but if you are not somewhat familiar with working on engines it is best to have someone experienced do it because your can do more damage and cost yourself more money in the long run.
