Cannot get speakers to work. ear piece works but not front or rear speakers.
External speakers usually require a power source. This may be provided by USB, power adapter or sometimes batteries.
They need to be plugged in AND switched on. And the audio plug needs to be in the audio socket - easily confused with a microphone socket
If you have checked that and they still do not work, you may have damaged wiring.
One last thing. Some digital speakers require a special digital socket - although the plug is the same. Check that your speakers are analog for use with a standard audio output!

Emachines front panel connections
the system board should be labelled where the jumper pins connect. if you are in the right spot, but the lights dont work, then flip the connection around, because LED lights are polarized, meaning they will not light up unless the + and - are plugged in correctly. Usually, the wire with the COLORING on it is the + and the white, gray, or black wire is the -
Lap top gets too hot and shuts downundefined
Almost every laptop will accumulate a big wad of fuzzballs and lintballs that get packed in front of the internal cooling fins for the processor and chipset. This results in overheating and random shutdowns, as is your problem.
Ease of cleaning this out, without disassembly, depends on the design of the laptop's cooling fans and air ducts. I have kept an 8 yr old Toshiba laptop clean inside and running good by using a shop vac wo work 2 ways. I use the vac's exhaust to blow air INTO the slots where the air typically exit's from the laptop.... and use the suction end of the shop vac on the fan openings of the laptop.
You don't want to blow into the fan openings, as this only forces the debris and fuzzball deeper into the cooling fins.
You want to force air the *opposite* way of the laptop's normal airflow, to dislodge the fuzzball.
After vacuum & blowing, the lintball should end up visible by the fan intake openings. You may have to pop the fan screens out if the lintball is too large to come out any other way.

I can't open windows pc emahine t1840
If your computer does not respond when pushing the power button you may need to have your computer checked out by a computer repair shop.
Possible causes for this issues include but are not limited to.
1. broken or bad power switch
2. Bad power supply
3. Dead or dying motherboard
All these issues can be replaced / fixed. However microsoft no longer supports windows XP and soon most software may fail to work as well. It may be a good time to look at a new computer, most places offer the option of transferring over old data such as images and documents as well.
