It's the sensor from tray fault. Try to blow with air spray to sensor, maybe is dirt with paper dust and need clean.

I suggest connecting the ethernet port on your Mac to the router and the router to your printer. You don't mention what printer you have (that would have been helpful) but I'm assuming it is networkable. Otherwise bypass the router and use a USB cable to connect it directly to your Mac in the usual fashion.

Have you set up the printer to print wireless? If so, if you have the computer and printer setup to work together, you should be able to turn the printer on and leave it on and print one job at a time. After it prints one job, it will stop and just be ready and waiting for you to send the next job. No need to turn off between jobs.

Use the thumb drill to literally drill a hole into the side of the old cartridge. Make sure to chose a location that's closer to the top of the ink cartridge to avoid over spillage when you add the new ink. Once you have the hole just squeeze in some ink of corresponding color into the hole. Not a huge amount, but enough to get some use out of it before the next refill. I highly recommend covering the hole afterward with a sticker or something so that you don't dry out the cartride. Reinsert the cartridge into the printer and use. (: All set! *Note: You may have to reset the count on the cartridge to avoid getting messages that the ink need to be changed. Some older scanners are not supported by the newer versions of Apple OSX. This can be a real problem for owners of older printer/scanner equipment and windows 8/10 has driver issues with older equipment also. HP is a great printer or scanner. They make a universal print driver and a universal scan driver which I have installed both in my macs and in my windows machines (I have both OSX and Windows machines at home and at work) The universal scan drivers and universal print drivers may work on your unit. Also you may have to assign your printer a high static IP address and tell the computer and driver where to find it, as sometimes automatic pairing is not possible. Example... Your router IP address is 192.168.1.1 and it passes out DHCP addresses from 50 to 100 (192.168.1.50 to 192.168.1.100). You can assign your printers in the house of office static IP address starting at .201 then .202 .203 etc... Tell the driver you know the IP address and enter 192.168.1.201 and the driver or HP universal driver will find the printer and link up no problem.

Was the monitor turned off separately from the computer? The monitor does have it's own on/off switch. If it's all connected to a surge protector both would normally turn off at the same time.
