Could be it has overheated and the NVidea chip is damaged. No idea why they are called laptops as to put them on a lap blocks the ventilation and they will overheat.

You got a conflict on your DNS protocol you need to go into your 'command prompt' settings (right click start and click on command prompt ) and enter 'clear DNS' and see if that works.

Go into the device manager and remove the camera. Then scan for hardware changes. It will find the camera and load the required drivers. If, for some reason, it finds the camera but not the drivers, go to the Acer webpage for your laptop and download the drivers. When you install them, just point to that file. Semper Fi, Z

Usually in my experience most laptop keyboards are disposable. I have 2 suggestions for you. 1. buy a new same brand keyboard. 2. remove the flex connector, then use an external usb keyboard, or a bluetooth wireless keyboard. hope it helps your problem.

I have actually experienced this before and surprisingly, it turned out to be a hardware fault with my built-in wireless device. I had to resort eventually to one of those USB plug-in wifi dongles. They cost less than ten bucks, and if you don't need the range, come in "nano" sizes that protrude less than half an inch when installed. Do disable the internal wifi device, either in device manager or better still, in the bios if using this solution.

If the computer doesn't power on what-so-ever, it may be your power ribbon. I have the same issue with my Dell Inspiron 15. The power ribbon on your motherboard connects to the power button on your laptop which obviously turns on your computer. That may have been damaged. I suggest taking apart your computer and trying to find out the issue from the inside. (Or, if you don't know how turn it in to a technician.)

If nothing is happening with a good battery or a good power adapter you have a serious issue. Could be bad mo bo, corrupt cmos, bad hard drive, bad peripheral, . Remove drive and plug into another known working computer as slave and see if it works and perform diagnostics on it. If it checks out at least you have your files and data . But the rest of the unit ................................

all that comes to mind are codecs. the phone may well be using codecs not on your laptop, I would suggest downloading and installing some free codecs packs.. good luck

Best thing to do would be buy a DVD+RW DRIVE that is external and runs of a USB cable that plugs into your laptop They are not expensive you just need to treat them with care so that they dont get dropped or damaged . as you say you have not tried a different battery or power supply then may be thats what you need to do just to make sure thats not what it could be.

Try holding down the Function key (Fn), then pressing F5. Wait a few seconds. On most laptop, each press of the F5 key will toggle between laptop display only, projector only and Dual (same image on both - my favorite). You'll probably see a little Monitor-shaped icon on the F5 key. It's possible it's another function key - on Dells it's usually F8.
