This should not be happening as a heater in the freezer should eliminate this problem.first check the hose is completely clear,if it is when your fridge goes into defrost mode you should be able to feel warmth near this drain or hear the ice crackling and defrosting thence draining via the rear tube also try removing the offending ice in the drain with hot water

Frigidaire FRS20ZRG Ice is collecting in the bottom of freezer

sounds like the drain is blocked, melt out the ice with a hair dryer until you can remove the bottom bin or draw, and remove the second drawer or bin, look at the inside back wall of the freezer and follow it down to the bottom,if you can't see the drain hole you'll have to remove the wall to get at the drain, slime and food gets stuck in the drain and when the machine defrosts the ice that melts off of the evap coil turns to water and it goes down the drain and down into the pan where it evaporates from the heat of the compressor and condenser but when the drain gets blocked the water has nowhere to go but onto the floor of the freezer and eventually onto the kitchen floor,i use a steemer to blow out the drain hose if you don't have one melt out as much ice that you can and pour hot water into the hole, with something like a turkey baster or anything that will push through the drain will work, when you think it's clear pour more hot water into the drain,if it goes down you're done if not keep at it until the water drains through.hope this helps

You will notice a drain hole, flush with a mixture of 1tspoon eco friendly bleach and 1 quart of hot water

Frigidaire Professional 22.6 Cu. Ft. Counter-Depth Refrigerator - Model: FPHC2399KF I have ice that is collecting in the bottom of my freezer. My understanding is that this ice is caused by a buildup...

There is a chance that the drain hole is pluged or clogged with frozen ice. This can usually be cleared with hot water to melt the ice then dry off any remaining water with a towel.
the drain is located in the bottom rear of the freezer cabinet just behind the panel with the vent holes

Water from freezer compartment collecting at bottom of frig; under veg. drawers.

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back/bottom of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water2_bing.gif in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curtain2_bing.gif wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking into the freezer and down the vent into the fridge instead of running2_bing.gif into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you have any other question. Water collecting and freezing in bottom of freezer

Hi, Remove the rear inside panel of the freezer and locate the drain hole under the evaporator coil. Remove the ice and flush the drain hole with hot water to make sure it is free. You can try running a soft wire through the drain also.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Frigidaire leaking

the drain in the freezer compartment is frozen up you can remove all items from lower freezer and remove access panel on back of freezer compartment pick the ice out of the drain hole with a small screwdriver DO NOT USE SCREWDRIVER AROUND THE ALUMINUM COILS! once all ice is gone that you can see use hairdryer to blow into hole on medium heat. once it looks like it is gone take a small 1/4 plastic tubing and push down the hole to try to clear obstructions then run hot water down hole. if it still doesnt drain take rear access panel off of compressor area (back of refrig) look for drain hose and remove clamp take off and clean u might try this first. but you will have to remove ice from drain.

Water on floor and ice on freezer bottom

The problem is that the drain hole inside the freezer in the lower back wall is clough and the water from defrost doesn't go through that drain to the evaporative pan in the back by the compresor ,you need to clear thatdrain first meltting the ice in that hole with hot water until it goes through then once in a while (every 3,4 months put bleach into the drain to keep it clear .

Frididaire side by side refrigerator- water freezing in bottom

Frozen or Plugged Defrost Drain

On Side By Side Refrigerator

The defrost drain pan is located at the bottom of the freezer compartment behind the back wall of the freezer. On some models the pan is accessible without removing the back panel and others are not.

Once you get to the defrost drain pan use a hair dryer to melt the ice from the pan.

Once the ice is removed use a turkey baster like this one: Turkey Baster http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?PartID=428708&PPStack=1

To squirt hot water into the drain hole to clear the drain.

When the drain is clear you should hear or see the water you are squirting into the hole enter the pan under or behind the refrigerator.
