The greater the detail setting the scanner is set to scan at, the greater will be the time taken to complete the scan process.

Lowering the detail settings may reduce the time taken to scan a document.
These settings may be found in the software that came with your printer.

Can not scan to mac computer from hp c7280. What should I do? I need to know how to scan hp c7280 to my imac computer. I receive the message "refer to device documentation to troubleshoot." ...

There are multiple ways to use the scanner on your Mac. If your Mac recognizes the scanner as a device, then you can use the scan from the Mac using Preview or Image Capture apps (in your Applications folder). You can also use Picasa by going to the import function and finding the scanner and try it from there. If you are having issues getting the HP scanner to recognize the Apple device. Here is the official website for the download from HP. Apple drivers sometimes do the job of getting the scanner to be recognized, but the official drivers might do better.

When I turn on my MP830 Cannon the error "release the scanner lock switch and turn the power off and back on" appears. I have done it . The scanner appears to attempt moving, but does not get very far

hello, what i have found out so far, sometimes a small bit of tape they use on the scanner and ribbon cable rubs on glass, then catches on the white calibration area, but not all the time, when a machine has been used really well, and taken care of, the scanner just fails, replace whole top unit, not the doc feed, just scanner unit only, if main pcb still good machine will work just fine

Problem: Processing calibration data from a scanner

Same problem happened to me last week on my newly purchased canon lide scanner, then I realized there is a tape that holds the mechanism underneath the scanner. You will have to remove the tape, and see if it is set to the unlocked position (mine has a sort of a knob if my memory served me right).

Can't calibrate the scan before scanning

I had the same problem when upgrading to mac os x. I was trying to scan directly from Photoshop but got the calibration message. I tried the two solutions given at the Canon website but they didn't work. I ended up downloading the Toolbox application to scan directly from there but the same message appeared. After installing the Toolbox application I unistalled the driver (11250) and reinstalled it. I opened Photoshop and tried scanning and the calibration window appeared only this time it didn't stop to give me the "Flim Adapter" warning. I must point that the scanner lid was open when this happend but I'm not sure that had anything to do with it.

So apparently it works if you have the Toolbox installed prior to installing the driver. The driver, Toolbox application and unistall driver can be found at Canon's website. Hope this helps.

Ciao!

CanoScan Scanner can not complete a scan

Double-check all connections and try another port if possible. There may also be damage to cables or pins. Do you have another cable to try? Do other devices work in the same port?

Slow scanning

I had the same problem on a Mac after upgrading OSX (on 10.5.7 now).

Downloaded the newest scanner driver from Canon:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=2610&modelid=13800
and now it scans without delay!

I always scan using MP Navigator, not from the scanner itself: let's me edit the scans and save where I want as .jpg or .pdf.
