We have a DVR hooked up to our 1989-99 Mitsubishi TV (floor model) still in amazing working condition. The remote control for that TV never allowed us to put the TV on mute. If the mute botton was pressed, the TV would switch to the input mode as if for a DVD or whatever. Hit it again and it would return you to live TV. Cable people have no clue--must be the TV they tell me. Problem: two weeks ago when dusting and moving my tv, I hit the mute button and this time it actually put the tv on mute. How do I know? Easy, the word mute in yellow was showing on the bottom of the TV. The TV then went into input mode. Hit the mute button again and it returned me to live TV EXCEPT WITH NO SOUND !! No one believes that the TV is on mute except me who did it/and saw it. The cable people are useless. How do I get my TV off mute without using the remote? I know the sound didn't just disappear and the TV die as everyone would like me to believe. periodically the word mute shows on the bottom of the screen. Help!!!!!

Well, without knowing the exact model of tv and remote, I can just give my best guess.
Try using the volume up/down on the TV and / or the remote.
On the TV, try pressing both the volume up and down at the same time.
Stick the remote right in the face of the TV (direct in front of the remote sensor) and hit the mute button.
Try tapping the mute button in very short single bursts rather than pressing it for a half second like you would any other button.
If any of those work, please come back and reply with the model of the TV and remote, because someone somewhere probably has the same issue and would love to have it solved!

Thanks for responding to my question about the ws-48413 mitsubishi. I'm exausted from fooling with this tv. The only other thing i can think of is I wonder if this entone 450 is compatable with this tv....

Just surf the site I given here. It has set-up code list; such that, it has selected from different brand remote controls; with different TV brands. The list is published in the alphabetical order of the brand name to the set. I recall that I've seen about 8 posts there, with alphabetical order of TV brand name, and the code list to each of them; with different brand TVs.
Check all the posts. You will get a suitable code; complactable to your Mitsubishi TV to Entone brand remote control. Surf the site with patience.

Remote will allow you to "choose an activity" to

Hi. It sounds like some of the IR commands on your remote (menu, exit, guide, info, play, skip, etc.) for your TV and DVD player are not correct. Luckily, the Harmony remote is a Learning remote, meaning you can use your original TV or DVD player remote to teach the Harmony remote the correct commands. The following tutorial by Logitech will assist you with this:

My Mitsubishi projection TV will not produce audio or video

Hi,
Two things are involved to cause that problem, tv remote control and remote sensor in tv.
Upon verification of remote working, it would be confirm that remote sensor in tv is defective and need to be replaced.
Remote control sends infra red light signal to tv and we can not see that light with naked-eye, so need digital camera or cell phone camera to see it by watching remote front through camera, press any keys on remote, if you see infra red light is blinking in remote front that means remote is working and remote sensor in tv will be replaced.
If no light blinking on pressing remote buttons confirm that this remote is defective and buy new remote.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

I need trhe codes for direct tv for my jumbo remote its a dvr box

Here are the Innovage Jumbo Remote codes for Direct TV satellite boxes:

200, 201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206, 207, 208, 209, 210, 211, 212, 213, 214, 215, 216, 217.

If none of these control all of your DVR functions, try adding these DVR codes from other manufacturers:

146, 147, 148, 184

These codes work for Tivo, Replay TV and dvr models made by Panasonic, Philips, RCA, and Sony.

Hope that helps.

Dish network UHF remote works intermittently.

If you extend the small antenna that is on the back of the receiver by using a short cable and a barrel connector to get the antenna out of the entertainment center or out from the TV this will help alot

I have new Polaroid TV/DVD combo & need code for my dish remote

Dish remotes generally will not program to combo units. There are a few exceptions but if you have already performed a power scan and have not had sucess you have one of the units that will not work. Dish is introducing a new receiver called a 222k which has a learning remote to prevent these types of issues. The 222k is a HD dussl tuner NON dvr receiver. It also has an expansion port that will allow a external hard drive to be connected to it which will allow the receiver to behave as a DVR unit but with added benefits an internal DVR model lacks.
Hope this answered your question and thanks for using FIx Ya. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Universal TV remote control

Target sells a GE Universal Remote Control, 5 Device with learning feature. I can't say if it works with your Verizon DVR, but its code for the Akai LCT3285TA is 1139. If you have the Verizon's remote, you should be able to use the learning function to make the GE control it - that's if the GE doesn't have a built in code that will work for this DVR.
