if you have win os in use as well then you will need to boot from the partition that has the linux os on it
any linux version will run
contact linus help and they will help you with the problem and how to get it up and running

your power supply is bad. the blinking light means there is a failed component in the power supply. replace the power supply and you will be good to go. around 60 dollars at any computer place. please rate me thank you.

You simply need to replace the screen, and or backlight, it is a relatively easy job, as long as you get a service manual. I usually get my screens from eBay, or similar.

I believe that would be the battery I would get a new battery that should solve the problem. When you use office or surf the internet that does not require as much power as playing games and watching videos. Just buy a new battery and that should solve the problem

The Grub bootloader that Linux uses may be conflicting with the install program for Windows.
I suggest formatting the partition you had Ubuntu installed on if your intent is to replace it.
This should make the partition available to Windows 7.

If you wanting to dual boot then i'm sorry you can't at the moment because of compatibility issues between wubi/mint4win and grub2, Linux Mint 8 comes without a Windows installer. The development team is working on the issue and new ISOs will be published when it is resolved.

Keep your eye on the Mint 8 website for the latest ISO with the windows installer included.

you need a new hard drive

nothing is wrong with ypur laptopmotherboard. i suggest you to use original charger. doublicate charger are not good for laptops .

To install audio / modem drivers, first download and install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp32646):

Installing this driver may result in an error. But continue with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.

2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.

3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"

4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"

5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the list.

7. Click Browse C:\sp36090 folder and select the .inf file (CpV30D5a) and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.

Conexant CX20548 Modem Driver for Microsoft Windows XP (sp36089.exe) (UAA Driver needed)

Download and install Conexant modem driver (sp36089). This will give error message and also will create a folder C:\swsetup\sp36089 which contains extracted driver files.

The same method which is used for installing audio driver needs to be followed for modem.
