1) Try using different print cartridges. If they don't work and the printer is new, return it to the store and get a replacement.

Color ink problem

Solution one: Check the ink levels To allow for full use of the cartridges, some printers continue to print even after the cartridges are completely out of ink. Follow these steps to check the ink levels in the Toolbox . The Toolbox is part of the standard printer software. Depending on the version of Toolbox on your computer, the appearance of the Toolbox features might vary.
NOTE: Ink level warnings and indicators provide estimates for planning purposes only. When an indicator shows low ink levels, consider having a replacement cartridge available to avoid possible printing delays. Print quality deteriorates as cartridges run out of ink.
  1. Click Start (c01827528.gif ), click All Programs , click the HP folder, and then click the icon for your HP printer (c02053172.gif ). The printer software opens.
  2. In the printer software, double-click Estimated Ink Levels . The Toolbox opens.
  3. Click the Estimated Ink Levels tab to display the estimated ink level of each cartridge. Figure 1: Estimated ink level indicator c02752297.gif Image: Estimated ink level indicator.
  4. If the ink level indicators show that a cartridge is low or empty, replace the cartridge.
  5. Try printing again.
  • If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.
Solution two: Reset the printer Resetting the printer might clear the issues and allow the printer to function correctly again.
  1. Press the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn off the printer.
NOTE: Pressing the Power button might not turn off the printer. This might happen if the printer is in an error state. Continue with these steps regardless.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer. Figure 2: Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer c01869581.gif Image: Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  3. Disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer. Figure 3: Disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer c01850063.gif Image: Disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait 30 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the USB cable to the printer. Figure 4: Reconnect the USB cable to the printer c01868577.gif Image: Reconnect the USB cable to the printer.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the printer. Figure 5: Reconnect the power cord to the printer c01869582.gif Image: Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  7. Press the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn on the printer.
  8. Try printing again.
  • If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.
Solution three: Restart the computer Restarting your computer might resolve the issue.
  1. Save the latest changes to your files, and then close all your open programs.
  2. Click Start , and then click Shut Down . A dialog box opens.
  3. Select Restart . Most computers turn off, and then turn on again automatically.
NOTE: If a dialog box opens with a message that it is now ok to turn off the computer, press the power button on the computer to turn it off. Then press the power button again to turn it on. After a few minutes, the computer is ready to print again.
  4. Reopen the file that you want to print, and then try printing again.
  • If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.
Solution four: Check for blank pages in the print preview If the printer prints all pages correctly, but it adds blank pages to the printout, check for blank pages in the print preview.
  1. In most programs, click File , and then click Print Preview . If the program you are using does not have this option, consult the program manufacturer.
  2. Review the print preview for blank pages.
  • If the print preview reveals blank pages, delete the blank pages in the document, and then try printing again.
  • If the preview contains no blank pages, continue with the next solution.
Solution five: Check the USB cable If the printer connects with a USB cable, a faulty connection might cause the issue. Follow these instructions to check the USB cable.
  1. Make sure that the USB cable inserts all the way into its port on the rear of the printer. Use some pressure to push it in all the way. Figure 6: Insert a USB cable into the rear of the printer c01868577.gif Image: Insert a USB cable into the rear of the printer.
  2. Make sure that the USB cable inserts all the way into its port on the computer. Use some pressure to push it in all the way.
  3. If the issue persists, try replacing the USB cable with a known good cable.
  • If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.
Solution six: Check the printer settings on the computer Issues with the printer settings on the computer might cause the printer to print blank pages. Follow these steps to check the printer settings on the computer. Step one: Check the default paper settings Make sure that the default paper size matches the width and length of the paper loaded in the tray. If the paper loaded in the tray is different from the paper size setting, the printer might print blank pages. For instance, the issue might occur if legal size paper (215 x 355 mm (8.5 x 14 in)) is in the tray, and the paper size setting is letter (215 x 279 mm (8.5 x 11 in)). Follow these steps to check the default paper settings.
  1. Click Start (c01827528.gif ).
  2. Click Printers and Faxes . The Printers and Faxes folder opens.
  3. Right-click the icon for your printer (c01532298.gif ), and then click Printing Preferences . The Printing Preferences window opens.
  4. Click the Paper/Quality tab, and then compare the settings in the Paper Size drop-down menu with the paper in the tray. If the size of the paper in the tray is not the same as the setting in the Paper Size drop-down menu, change the setting:
    1. Click the Paper Size drop-down list, and then select the size of the paper that is in the tray.
    2. Click Apply to save the settings, and then click OK to close the Printing Preferences window.
Step two: Print a test page Follow these steps in the order presented to print a test page. A test page might help determine if the printer installation caused the problem.
  1. Click Start (c01827528.gif ).
  2. Click Printers and Faxes . The Printers and Faxes folder opens.
  3. Right-click the printer icon (c01532298.gif ), and then click Properties . The Properties window opens.
  4. In the General tab, click Print Test Page . The printer prints the Windows XP Printer Test Page. Figure 7: Example of Windows XP Printer Test Page c01532301.gif Image: Example of Windows XP Printer Test Page.
  • If the Windows XP Printer Test Page prints successfully, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the page is blank, continue to the next solution.
Solution seven: Print from an alternate program Follow these steps to try printing from an alternate program, such as Microsoft Notepad or WordPad, to determine if the current program is causing the issue.
  1. Browse to the location of your saved document, right-click the file, and then click Open With . A window opens with a list of programs.
  2. Select a program other than the program you are currently using to print the document.
  3. Open the file in the program, and then check the contents.
NOTE: Most files open in plain text applications, such as Notepad or WordPad, even if the contents include unusual symbols or text that does not make sense.
  4. Try to print the file:
    1. Click File , and then click Print . The Print window opens.
    2. Select your HP printer from the Select Printer drop-down menu, and then click OK .
If successful, the printer prints exactly what displays in the program window.
    • If the document prints successfully in the alternate program, you do not need to continue troubleshooting. The issue is likely specific to the program you are trying to print from. Consult the program manufacturer for assistance.
    • If the document still prints blank pages in the alternate program, continue to the next solution.
    • here are a couple things you can try hope this helps you

Error code Oxc 18a 0007 appears and can not print

Hi,

The "Ox18" series errors can be removed by resetting the printer. Unplug the USB cable from the printer, remove the ink cartridges. When the "Insert ink cartridges" message appears unplug the power cord from the printer. Wait 1 minute (at least), then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer if it didn't come on by itself. Reinsert the ink, close the unit and print a calibration page if prompted to do so. Finally reconnect the USB cable to the printer. If this doesn't work, the unit needs service (or replacement if the service call will cost more than a new printer).

Thank you!!

Hp deskjet 3650 printer works very slowly with win 7

tion one: Check the power supply Follow these steps to check the power supply to make sure that it is functioning correctly.
  1. Turn the product so that you can access the rear side.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the product. Figure 1: Unplug the power cord from the back of the product
  3. Remove any devices between the product and the power outlet, such as surge suppressors or power strips.
  4. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet.
  5. Print and time a self-test again.
  • If the test page prints in 30 seconds or less , the problem relates to the power supply. Replace devices between the product and the power outlet, or leave the product connected directly to the wall outlet.
  • If the test page takes significantly longer than 30 seconds to print, continue to the next solution in this document.
Solution two: Check the USB connection
  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the HP product. Figure 2: Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the HP product
  2. Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the computer.
  3. Wait five seconds.
  4. Reconnect the USB cable to the back of the product and the computer, according to the following guidelines: The icon on the USB cable (c01424575.gif ) faces up when the cable connects to the product correctly. Connect the small end of the USB cable to the back of the product Connect the other end of the USB cable to the computer
  5. After you make sure that the USB cable connects correctly and securely, review the following guidelines to check other potential USB-related problems:
    • USB ports on the keyboard. USB ports on the keyboard and in the front of some computers might not be powerful enough to support the product. If the USB cable connects to the USB port on the keyboard, try connecting it to another available USB port on the computer.
    • USB cable length. HP supports USB cables less than 5 m (16 feet, 5 inches) long. However, a USB cable that is 5 m (16 feet 5 inches) long must be of high-quality. Otherwise, HP recommends using a USB cable that is less than 2 m (6 feet, 6 inches). Do not use patch cables to increase the length of an existing cable. Use a powered USB hub if you need more length.
    • Alternate USB ports. Connect the USB cable to another port on the computer to make sure that the USB port on the computer is not the problem.
    • Defective USB cable. Replace the USB cable to make sure that the existing cable is not defective.
    • Conflicting USB ports. Disconnect any other USB printers, USB scanners, USB cameras, and any other USB connected peripherals. Start reconnecting these devices one at a time to determine if one of the devices is using too much power. Consider purchasing and installing a powered USB hub if necessary. NOTE: A USB-powered hub is a device that increases the number of available USB ports on a computer and facilitates communication between the USB devices and the computer. A powered USB hub can resolve communication failures between some, but not all, USB chipsets and HP products.
  6. After checking the USB connection, print and time a self-test page again.
  • If the test page prints in 30 seconds or less , the problem relates to the USB connection. Replace the USB cable or modify the connection to meet the preceding criteria.
  • If the test page takes significantly longer than 30 seconds to print, continue to the next solution in this document.
Solution three: Check cartridge compatibility Incompatible cartridges can cause the slow printing problem. To check the cartridge compatibility for your product, go to HP SureSupply . To identify your cartridge in a language other than English, click the language link near the globe icon (c01906983.gif ) in the upper right corner of your browser. Examine the cartridges in your HP product, and then follow these steps to check which cartridges are compatible with your product. The number on the cartridge label must match the numbers listed on HP SureSupply.
  • If the cartridges are not compatible with your HP product , replace the cartridges. You can order replacement cartridges directly from HP SureSupply.
  • If the cartridges are compatible with your HP product , continue to the next solution in this document.
Solution four: Perform a reset A reset drains the power from the product and returns it to the same settings after restarting.
  1. Press the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn off the product.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the product. Figure 3:
  3. Disconnect the data cable (USB or Ethernet, depending on how your product is set up) from the back of the product. USB cable Ethernet cable
  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Figure 4: Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet
  5. Wait about 30 seconds.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the product and wall outlet, and then turn on the product.
  7. Print and time a self-test again.
  • If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.
