There is a menu button on the monitor , it will bring you to something called OSD menu, go to Farctory RESET at bottom of menu, and if this is a resolution on computer issue , you will need to attach the tower to another monitor to be able to reset this resolution

You got to Report with the HP and they Will update you once they have a Driver for you,
However what you can do is try and run BIOS update if Possible.(it may not be Possible in a Boot issue though).

They may also give you a better alternative part number for the power cord. But according to me this particular part would be best for you monitor(259055-001). You can also buy this product online from hp.com. Yes in fact you can use sony pc tower to display on this monitor.
