After installation of Windows XP

A fresh installation of Windows usually doesn't have support for integrated sound, so you'll need to install the sound driver software. You can download what you need from HP. "CQ60" is a big family of models, so you'll need to pick your specific model from this page. Then you'll be able to pick the drivers you need for your computer. You should also download and install the video drivers as well. This will make sure you get the full performance from your computer's video.

Hi! Welcome to www.fixya.com.
1. Check if you have red x mark on your speaker option. 2. Check if control panel then sound if speaker is your default settings. 3. Type device manager on the start search and check on sound driver. If there is a exclamation point 4. You need to get the righ driver for your audio 5. Check out this website and put your exact model to get audio driver. 6. You can check whether your sound is good if you plug in a head set to test it.

Hope this resolution fix the problem on your computer. Thanks for contacting Fixya. Bye for now.
