I have a HP deskjet 6949 series printer. I have had it for three months. My problem is that lights on the from panel(power button light, resume light and print cartridge status light) are blinking...

Power, Resume, and Print Cartridge Status lights are flashing in unison The printer might need to be restarted.
  1. Press the Power button to turn off the printer, and then press the Power button to restart the printer. Proceed to Step 2 if the lights continue to flash.
  2. Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  3. Disconnect the printer power cord from the electrical outlet.
  4. Reconnect the printer power cord to the electrical outlet.
  5. Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Error 5100

Hello! Try this:
1. Unplug the power cord

2. While pressing the ON button, plug the power cord back in.
The power light should flash an orange/yellow color.
Continue pressing the ON button, and press the RESUME button 4 times. The light changes every time you press it.

3. Release both buttons, and restart the printer.

The printer should now stop blinking and operate as usual.
I hope this works for you. OMS
