Hello,

You should be able to find out what you need by going to the product's website:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=238&modelid=13369#DownloadDetailAct

Click on the "Drivers & Downloads" tab able halfway down the page. Click on the "User's Guide" link to open the guide. Looks like scanning information begins on page 58.

Hope this helps! : )

Computer illiterate needs help on how to scan documents from canon/serial#jcyb25729 pixma mp460 into windows/vista software

All you need to do is go into Navigator and select photo/document, this will take you to a screen where you can select photo/document etc. Then select resolution (the higher the dpi the better the quality, but slows down scanning). Follow the instructions. When scan is complete a small picture will appear, and a dialogue box asking if you wish to scan again, if you do put a new document on the cover and press scan. If it doesn't look right ignore the picture and rescan. When done exit at the dialogue box. The small pictures can be selected and edited or turned around using the icons. You can save one image at a time just by selecting the image and not the others. If you want to make a PDF, then select the images in the order you want the pages to appear in and save as a PDF.

Scanner

are you pressing ok on the printer? all of your scanning should be done via the MP460 navigator. check your applications under the Canon Utlitiy and click on the MP460 Navigator button. scanning needs to be done via that - not the actual printer. refer to the dialogue box when you are on the MP460 navigator. lower left area has a Save bar, when you click on it tow options: save to PC or save as PDF.
