Hi Experts,

I got below error messages from the /var/log/messages file. Do you know what does it mean? and how (the cause) it will be generated? Do you have any ideas?

Hi Fatoil ,

Have you tried another SCSI port , another SCSI card , another SCSI drive , swopping if it is card problem or drive or both problem ?.

If you have a spare SCSI hd , plug it in to same port and see if it works . Swop to another port and see if the spare SCSI hd works. Swop to another SCSI card and see if spare SCSI hd works.

All this elimination will narrow down the problem .
SCSI cards are not expensive ,.
old working SCSI hds don't cost you anything if you have them.
Sending out the server for servicing will cost you.
I presume you don't have a maintenance contract for this server .
If you have , get them down to settle it .
If you don't , after you settle this matter , make sure you get a maintenance contract for all your critical servers / equipment.

Maint Contracts seem expensive when nothing breaks down. However , when they do , it makes every worry go away.

Good luck,
David

Error message stop 0x00000024

which operating system ?

If you get the Windows blue screen, you can determine which stop code you have and determine what you need to do in order to get your computer back to working correctly.

First, make sure that you have this error code - Stop 0x00000024 or NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM. This message shows that a problem occurred within Ntfs.sys, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS file system drives. One possible problem is a malfunctioning SCSI and Advanced Technology Attachment (ATA) hardware or drivers. This can also adversely affect the system's ability to read and write to disk, causing errors. If the computer is using a SCSI hard drive, check both for cabling and termination problems between the SCSI controller and the disks. You will need to periodically check the Event Viewer for error messages related to SCSI or FASTFAT in the System log. You can also use Autochk in the Application log. Try the following. First, Double-click My Computer, select the hard disk you want to check. Then, on the File menu, click Properties. Then, click the Tools tab. Next, in the Error-checking box, click Check Now.
Finally, in Check disk options, select the scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box. You can also select the Automatically fix file system errors check box.

I have fujitsu 4120c and it doesnot work,it have error 8.can anybody help me

Hi,

Error code 8 means the SCSI fuse is blown off. This alarm is detected during initial processing immediately after power-on.

Probable causes:
- Defective SCSI cable
- Other SCSI device malfunction

Check if the SCSI cable or other SCSI devices connected to the scanner cause this error. The scanner can work even after this error occurs.

If the issue persists, you may have to contact Authorised Fujitsu Engineer to rectify the error.

Hope the above information is helpful.

Thank you for contacting Fixya.

While i was formatting a TC2120 server, i used low level formatting with Ctrl+A option after that the server is not detecting the SCSI hard disk although i've tried to install the third party driver with...

This error message usually relates to the wrong third party scsi drivers being use.

Check what SCSI card you have installed and make sure you have the correct drivers and that you select the correct driver from the list at the appropriate time.

It is also possible that the SCSI card itself has a problem, but it is far more likely to be the wrong driver.

Blue screen error 0x00000024 dont have recovery disk

This Stop message, also known as Stop 0x24, indicates that a problem occurred within Ntfs.sys (the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS drives).

Resolving the ProblemDisk Corruption. Corruption in the NTFS file system or bad blocks (sectors) on the hard disk can induce this error. Corrupted SCSI and EIDE drivers can also adversely affect the systems ability to read and write to disk, thus causing the error.
Check Event Viewer for error messages from SCSI and FASTFAT (System Log) or Autochk (Application Log) that might help pinpoint the device or driver that is causing the error. Try disabling any virus scanners, backup programs, or disk defragmenter tools that continually monitor the system. You also need to run hardware diagnostics supplied by the system manufacturer. For details on these procedures, see the owners manual for your computer. Run Chkdsk /f /r to detect and resolve any file system structural corruption. You must restart the system before the disk scan begins on a system partition. If you cannot start the system due to the error, use the Recovery Console and run Chkdsk /r.

Unfamiliar Error message:

This seems to be related to a network problem, specifically, authentication. Has anything been changed or upgraded recently? There are a number of references to the error on the internet. I have attached them below.
Firstly, one user has looked at the /var/log/messages log file and found the additional error "uam: uam not found (status=-1"
Can you check that log?

A fix suggested by one user is:
"Turns out I needed to update the nettalk version that was included with YDL 2.3 to version 1.5.3.1-1c. After that and a restart apple talk works perfectly, on both our os9 and X machines." Maybe there is a lead there.

Attached bits from other users below.
-------------------------------------------------------
Apparently, this error is "-5002 afpBadUAM: AFP Bad UAM," something to do with the User Authentication Module.

I've looked in var/log/messages
>>and it says : uam: uam not found (status=-1)

Good Luck. If you need to talk further, pls post it here. Rgds,
