The user manual was no help. I called Polaroid and they help me solve the problem. Very helpful and spoke English which is unusual for customer service anymore.

I have removed all cable boxes from my home. I cannot get the tv remote to change channels. I was told by the cable tech that I needed to do a channel search. How do I do that?

Which specific model do you have? The menus may depend on your model. Are you using the original TV remote or a different remote? If you do not have the TV remote, try the buttons on the TV. Use the channel up/down buttons to navigate through the menu items and the volume up button to enter a sub-menu.

Try Menu and locate the Channel sub-menu. Then make sure that the antenna Air/Cable item is set correctly. Then the Channel Search option is on the next line. This is the method for the LCD2050. For the TTM2901L, you need the same Channel sub-menu but the channel search is called "Auto Program".

A number of other manuals for Polaroid TVs are available here: http://www.polaroid-tv.com/polaroid-lcd-tv/manual/ .

I hope this helps. If you add a comment with your model number, I'll be glad to provide additional help. (Note: without the model, I can't be sure which tuners (NTSC - analog OTA or cable, ATSC - digital OTA, or QAM - digital cable) are in your TV. This may change whether you can receive any stations without the cable boxes.)

I don't now how i recive tv chanels in hd

Your source has to be in HD like a local broadcast TV station currently broadcasting in HD which you get with a VHF/UHF antenna connected to the HDTV. Most primetime TV shows are in HD so using the antenna on the HDTV is all you need. Press MENU on your TV remote and make sure you have ANTENNA set instead of cable to get local TV stations.

You also could use your local cable TV provider. You would need digital cable service and a HD cable box with HDMI or component video cable hookup to the HDTV. HD channels are typically above 100. Call your cable TV provider for more details.

Read your user manual for the LG TV. Ask for help from family, friends, neighbors, local electronics shops.

I know this tv has digital capabilities, so i don't need to get the digital box, what do i need to watch my local channels? i have directv but does not include local channels (ie. fox, abc, nbc).

Hello

To tune the local channels do the following.

1 Press the MENU key on the remote control to
display the Main menu.

2 Use the CURSOR "UP" or "Down"
keys to highlight
Manual Channel Search. Press ENTER.

3 Use the CURSOR "Up" or "Down"
keys to select Cable,
Air (Antenna), or Digital Add-On.

After the search is complete, the HDTV will exit the
menu system and return to normal TV viewing.

IMPORTANT FACT: This HDTV maintains only one database

of digital channels. Therefore, when you search for

cable channels, the database of antenna digital channels

will be deleted. You will only be able to receive those
ClearQAM channels your cable company provides.

NOTE:"Not available" will appear on the screen

when an option is unavailable.

Hello. Here is the link from Polaroid to your users manual for the tv:

http://www.polaroid.com/service/userguides/ce/lcd_tvs/flm1511_ug.pdf

What you have to do is from the menu choose channel setting and then let the tv search for the signal and it will load the channels. Page 27 from the manual explains it all. Let me know if I can be of further help.

Setup 32 inch sansui for digital reception

1) Connect your signal source - either CABLE or ANTENNA.
2) Go into your menu and select your signal source to match.
3) SCAN in the channels. This will give you all channels available.
Your User Manual will give you all information.
If you are on cable, you may have to check with your supplier to see if they carry local stations.

Black box comes up on tv screen

The black box is a text box for closed captioning. Some stations send the signal which turns on the box while not actually broadcasting any text. Go into your setup menu and turn off closed captioning, or at least change it to a different mode. The easiest option is to restore factory presets.

Red distortion

it sounds like your IR board is going out, its easy to replace and is inexpensive usually about 10.00 plus tax and shipping, and very easy to install, its one of the few parts you can buy for these models outside of the 479.00 dollar control box.
