New Portable DVD wont turn on.

I have a new 8" polaroid DVD player and it won't turn on. I tried using the side switch to the ON position, as well as using the remote, however neither of them works. The unit is plugged in and I can see power is getting to it by the red indicator light on the front. PLEASE HELP>>> WE ARE LEAVING FOR VACATION TOMORROW MORNING!!!

You have one DVD that will not work, but others work fine?
The one DVD is bad. toss it or return it if new.

it does sound like a hardware problem, is it under warranty? I'd have it checked and possibly get repaired for free.
