I bought my bulb at www.bulbsolutions.com for $169.00 total including shipping. (cheapest I found on the web and it is the exact OEM bulb that came with the tv). Came in just 2 days. Unplug TV and remove the plate on the lower right side of TV (only 2 screws). Once plate is off, you will see a the bulb cage, it will have 3 screws. Remove screws and pull out the cage with the little wire handle attached to it. You will now be looking at the back of the bulb. It will have two insulated wires running out the back of it that run to the right and back to where they plug into tv. At the plug you will see two small black screws. Remove these screws and unplug the two wires. (Note: it is best to use a small magnetic screwdriver as it is easy to drop the small screws down into tv and they are hard to retrieve). Now remove the three screws and plates that hold bulb into place. Old bulb is now out, so just reverse procedure to replace with new bulb. Do not touch new bulb with you fingers directly as the oils from your skin will create hot spots on bulb and make it burn out prematurely. If you do touch it, you can clean with isopropyl alcohol and a soft clean cloth. If there is a lot of dust in the housing, clean this out first. If the fan is dusty also, now would be a good time to clean this also. The fan panel is on the back lower left of TV, just behind the bulb housing. Once done plug in TV. Hopefully you now have a picture. Now all that is left to do is reset the lamp timer so that the orange light on front TV panel goes out. To do this, press the ENTER button on the TV and the MUTE button on the remote at the same time. After 5 seconds the screen should come up and it will read "Lamp use time...Total lamp use time ....lamp reset" Press the center button on your remote (the circle button right in the middle of the four directional buttons) and you will be reset to -0- again. Your orange light should now be off.
I went through so much crap with LG over this. They clearly don't have any intention on letting there do-it-yourself customers save some money. I'm guessing it would have cost me $300-400 to have a tech do this, maybe more. Before I discovered how to reset the timer, I called the Service Center and they were going to charge me $100 to do it for me! They claimed it required a "Special Service Remote" to access the lamp timer menu. Of course LG could not tell me how to do it over the phone. I am never buying an LG again. I have two 50" plasmas and this 52" DLP and I have had problems with all of them. Hope this helps someone and saves them the time and aggrevation I had to go through just to change a stupid light bulb.

Hello! Have you bought bare lamp? Probably, yes. And not from "Panasonic"? yes. The timer's reset procedure is different for every model of Panasonic, including TVs. when you buy lamp with housing from Panasonic, they will give you the directions, how to. If it's "aftermarket", nope! http://www.manualowl.com/m/Panasonic/PT-D5600U/Manual/52045 that's where you will find the procedure. it's quite complicated, page 45. follow the directions. good luck, Alex.
There are several online video tutorials that are available online. If you search some of the websites that seel the lamp, most have a tutorial.
You'll need...
1. a Phillips screwdriver
2. a 7mm (I believe) nut driver
3. Needlenose pliars
4. Gloves to keep acid from your skin getting on the lamp. The company I bought my lamp from provides cotton gloves (www.bulbsolutions.com)
Remove 3 screws from housing (2 on each side, and one that holds front of housing to the back of the housing)
Remove 2 mounting screws in corner of lamp that holds lamp securely to the lens.
Remove nut holding wiring harness to lamp
Remove screw holding wiring harness to lamp
That should be fine to do. Even if the projector did alter the current based on lamp life, the worst that could happen in the lamp would burn out completely. A good projector should have a safety circuit with a fuse to prevent damage to any internal components. You should be fine.
The file is too large to post here but if you post your email address, I can send you the step by step instructions to replace the lamp and reset the lamp hour counter.

The stated life of the bulb is 10,000 hours ... and I've had my LSP1 for perhaps 4 years. We use it kind of heavily - and I'd say we've used it roughly 30-40 hours a week... and over 4 years I'd say that equates to 200 weeks at 30-40 hours = 6000-8000 hours of use already. So, once I replace the current lamp - if the replacement works well... then I'll immediately buy a spare bulb. That will enable effective use for another 20,000 hours with the new replacement and spare. That hould last me about 9-11 more years for only $500 or so.... assuming I get 4.5-5.5 years of use per bulb.
I purchased a replacement bulb for Infocus X2, shipping included for $249.00 cdn. $150.00 below nearest competitor.
The company is Advanced Presentations in Mississauga, Ont. their web site is; www.advanced-inc.com. Another location is at www.tiger.ca in Toronto and if they have it..... their prices are unbelievably inexpensive!!!! Good hunting and God bless...Capt. Hannu
