Samsung DLP HL-P5063W. . .no lamp!

Remove the rear cover and check the lamp cover switch. Earlier versions used a black plastic switch holder that may break due to improper assembly. The part number for the holder is BP61-01240A. Newer versions use a metal tab attached to the engine. In this case, improper assembly may cause the lamp cover switch to be extended past its range, either breaking the switch or causing it to have an open contact. Replace the switch with BP91-01231A.

Note that in these models, when reinstalling the rear cover, it is best to remove the lamp cover first, install the rear cover, then install the lamp cover. This will make sure that the lamp switch is properly engaged.

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Samsung TV no picture, have sound, all indicator lights are off

Before you buy a new lamp, use an Ohm meter to test the across it's contacts for continuity. If the test shows the lamp's circuit is pen (infinity resistance reading on the meter), it will give you more confidence that the lamp is the problem. Also, look for blackening or obvious failure in the filament to confirm it. As has been said, the lamp has a finite amount of run-time before it fails. Think of it as a feature that makes the projection television much easier to keep running indefinitely than a flat panel TV.

I have green vertical squiggles lines over whole screen

possibly the DMD chip goes bad, you can try to disassemble your tv, and take out the DMD chip, when carefully inspect its mirror, whether you found any lines or white pots in it. if it had lines or white pots, you have to replace it.

I have a 50 inch DLP samsung and it wont power on after making a lot of noise (I replaced the lamp) worked fine for a few days now the red light and the right side green light is blinking. any sugge

The answers above are correct. It's either the lamp or the color wheel. Testing the lamp is pretty straight forward. Use an Ohm meter to see if the it's filament has continuity. It's unlikely that a good color wheel would fail immediately after changing the lamp. Look to see if some wiring is out of place and rubbing the wheel causing the noise you described. A jammed but otherwise good color wheel would cause the TV to shut down and display an error code.

What is causing white vspots on my tv?

As you probably know, your DLP (Digital Light Processing) TV works by projecting Red, Blue and Green light from three LEDs or a color wheel depending on your model, onto the DLP chip which contains rows of thousands of tiny mirrors. These mirrors reflect the colored light through some lenses and other fixed mirrors and onto the back side of the big frosted plastic screen on the front of your TV cabinet. In the neutral position, these little mirrors don't reflect any light onto the back of the screen. If they flex into a certain position they will reflect any light from the three LEDS shining on them. What color depends on which LEDS are on at that moment. Each one of the mirrors is roughly equivalent to a pixel.

Any mechanical thing will eventually fail and if any of these mirrors fails in the OFF position, then no light will be projected to that mirror's target on the big screen. You are not likely to notice one "pixel" on your screen being dark though. However, if any of the mirrors fail stuck in the in the ON position they will continuously reflect all three LEDs light to that mirror's target on the big screen. This little white dot is noticeable and your attention will constantly be drawn to that stuck mirror's white spot. Once one mirror fails it is only a short time before more and more mirrors stick in the ON position and you see dozens then hundreds of white specs. It's VERY annoying.

Fortunately, if you are fairly DYI handy, it's not a big job to install a new DLP chip (or LEDs for that matter) into your DLP rear projection TV. Do a BING search on the internet for the make/model of your TV and something like "how to change the DLP chip" in that make and model. There are plenty of YouTube videos on line that make the procedure very clear. If after watching the video you don't understand the procedure, that's an indication that you shouldn't attempt it. I've replaced two LEDs and the DLP chip on my Samsung 65" TV. That might seem like a bad thing but if you consider that the TV was 7 years old at the time and these seem to be the only parts that fail, it was worth it to more or less make the TV like new again. When you search for the parts, watch out for sellers with low part price but ridiculously high shipping cost. I found that Sears.com had the best price and shipping times for these parts.

Clean samsung projection tv

You must unplug the unit. there should be portals on the left & right side, held in place with 1 screw each. You can look in & clean the lens & mirrors. be sure you have the glass mirrors. If they are Mylar don't attempt to clean, because if you tear it you've got to replace it.( I don't think Samsung used Mylar screens) You must unplug the unit. Then you can vacuum the back to remove as much of the dust as possible, being very careful not to disconnect any wiring, or break parts. Dust causes electronic equipment to heat more & you already have an extremely hot lamp. You'll have dust on many components & the fans. It's important to minimize dust collection in any piece of electronic equipment.

Samsung HL - S5087W

Shay, where did you get your lamp from? If you bought a sub-par generic lamp, then the result will be exactly what you described. Generic lamps can be found abundantly on Amazon or eBay type marketplaces... i would stay away from shopping there. I recommend a site called Discount-Merchant or SamsungParts... D-M seems to be the cheaper one for original Philips brand replacement lamps. Make sure you are buying a Philips and not a generic or knockoff Philips. Another good resource for troubleshooting your TV is the FixYourDLP forums... You can get lots of help there as well! Good luck!
