Dear Sir,

Welcome to Fixya
Might want to take a look at this:
http://canoncanada.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11506/session/L3Nuby8xL3NpZC9FVFAyZDdCag
A screw inside some Canon PowerShot SD950 IS cameras may loosen and fall out due to vibration that is generated while carrying or using the camera. Apparently a screw might have come out that prevents the camera from turning on.
The repair is free-of-charge, even fro out-of-warranty period.

I think it helps.

Canon powershot SD1300 IS won't turn on, even with fully charged battery

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

My camera will not turn on even after charging it for a long time. The battery works in other cameras except mine so the battery is not the problem. Why will my camera not turn on?

My Canon SD950is camera asks me to submit time/date info every time I turn on the camera. The manual says this means the internal battery is depleted and needs to be recharged. I have a fully charged...

Yes I get something similar with my Panasonic camera just because I take the battery out when the camera is waiting for the next outing, but it is ok as soon as I set the clock and if I leave the battery in. From what you said then perhaps the internal battery is faulty but if you don't usually leave the battery in, you could try leaving the battery in for a few days to see if that restores some power to the internal battery.

I have a 1 and 1/2 year old powershot SD950IS digital elph - worked fine one day and would turn on the next day . . . two different charged batteries, still not powering on. Is it fixable?

That can be from a few causes such as the fuses blowing. It is worth fixing if you have warranty but may cost as much or more than a replacement camera if you are no longer covered..

Won't turn on

Make sure the battery is new or in good shape to hold a full charge. It may be a good idea to check the voltage the charger is putting out. Also test the voltage the battery is receiving and holding when not in the camera.
It may be possible to test this camera with an external voltage adapter of the correct voltage. If you can get the camera started, then go to the menus and set all to factory default settings.
If you still have no results, then I would suggest to call Canon at the repair department and ask questions, and also find how much a repair is. Canon also has a trade-up or trade-in program.
Go to canon.com and to the repair section.
This same thing happened to one of the cameras I had which is similar. The external power supply made it work, some problem is internally. Canon had checked it for me, and found internal damage due to water buildup on the circuit board.

Camera wont turn on

If you bought the camera in January, it's still under warranty for a year. When you get home call 1-800-OK-CANON to arrange warranty repair. They're usually very good about it, and will try to make things right.

Camera wont turn on

Camera will not power on. Canon posted a bulletin regarding a possible solution for some SD950's at the following website. Apparently this model has a screw that can come loose inside and the camera will not power. They just found this to be the case with my SD950, and they fixed it for free. It was outside of the warranty by a couple months. They even sent me a prepaid UPS shipping label to send them my camera for repair. See the link below for more on this possible solution:
