Why can't I raise or lower the deck?

Sounds like you have jammed linkages which raise and lower deck, you can try this which usually works best with assistant.
With engine off, shake the deck vigorously (up,down, back and forth) while try to raise deck with lever.
Check for worn or damaged arms, springs, deck mounting points, etc and repair or replace.

Ahow to adjust the deck height of a craftsman riding mower

The deck should have a handle to raise or lower deck. To level the deck you can look at the front of the deck attachment and should see a threaded rod going through a plate in front bottom of chassis. Tightening this nut will raise front end and vice versa. I hope this helps.

The deck on my mower is lower on one side than the other. Is there a way to raise it up? It is tearing my yard up and scalping. I have a craftsman 15hp 42inch cut command. Any help would be appreciated...

To adjust a Craftsman deck, raise the deck to the normal cutting height.
Measure to the flange on the deck on the right & left sides. It is easier to lower the deck than to raise it, so, on the high side, find the threaded rod that supports the deck. Using a wrench, back off of the nut (counterclockwise as viewed from the end of the rod) until both the left & right sides of the deck are the same height.
Be sure your tires are properly inflated before measuring.

The deck will not raise even , the riding lawnmower is a MTD Yard Machines, and when you raise the deck the left side does as it should, but the right side stays lowered to the ground and will not raise....

There is a pin that has come out of it's holf from the right side of the deck. Have someone raise the deck up and down and you should see a bracket or rod moving up and down. This attaches to the deck with a clevis pin to hold it in place.

How to adjust mower deck height

There should be two threaded rods with a nut on them that goes from the frame to the deck. Check the height of each blade and which ever side is out of balance you can disconnect that sides rod (usually held onto the mount with a clip or cotter pin) and turn the rod to either raise or lower your deck until it is level.

The above was for leveling your deck.

If you just need to raise or lower the deck depends on if you have a lever on the right side with a push button on top just depress the push button and push forward to lower or pull back to raise.
It might have a round knob that you turn to raise or lower.

Good luck
