Stop pop up adverts on web sites..endless interference sites load by them self.

Some routers can be configured to block certain websites as a manual process (one site at a time). You need administrator rights to log in to your router and do this.

Your browser may have a pop-up blocker option in the preferences that can be checked to activate it. If your computer is displaying countless "pop ups" when browsing the Internet it could because malware has changed the settings of your browser. Check your browser's preferences to see if your home page and/or search engine preferences have changed (without you changing them.) If you don't recognize the page or search engine in your preferences change them back to your preferences. Recheck these settings again after you've restarted your computer.

Shortcut commands of insert,file,edit,format,tool,help,new

HERE'S THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM:

I think your problem has something to do with the display of the MENU BAR of your browser. If the MENU BAR is displayed, you don't need to use the shortcut commands. This is what you've got to do:

1. Press the Alt Key. After releasing it, you will find a temporary display of the MENU BAR.

2. Click View

3. Click Toolbars. As you noticed, different toolbars are displayed. Click the MENU BAR, NAVIGATION TOOL BAR, and all the other bars that you want.

You will be surprised that all these commands will be permanently displayed on your browser.

NOTE: This process is applicable to Mozilla Browser.

Your problem is solved! Thanks. I hope it helps...

When I type in the IP address 192.168.2.1 and hit enter it just 'thinks' for around 2 mins then i get the IE cannot display page message up...Is there a reason why i cant get onto my routers page...

First off, make sure the management IP is indeed 192.168.2.1
to do that start > run > cmd > type "ipconfig" and press enter, the Default Gateway's IP address is the router's IP address.
second step, ping it. you should get a replay back
lastly, if you still cannot open the management page, the issue is probably with your browser, one common reason is a configured proxy server on the browser, remove it.
for Internet Explorer: Tools > Internet options > "connections" tab > press "LAN Settings" > uncheck all three checkboxes there.

I Hope this helps

My router seems to work fine with both of my windows 7 computers but, when I enter the ip adress in my browser, the utility does not display correctly and I can't manage the router. Are there updated...

1. check the manual to see if you have the correct IP address to log into the router: that is 192.168.1.1
2. here is the Linksys knowledge base page that will give you more information about your router. firmware updates can be obtained via the router.
3. you may have to set the router to " factory default" using the software that came with the router.

How can i secure my signal on

Open a browser and type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar. This will link you directly to the router. A login and password screen should be displayed. The default user is admin with the password admin or a blank password depending on the release date. If you have changed this it will differ.
Once in the router menu, select the wireless tab and then the wireless security tab. This gives you options to secure. Select either wep or wpa and enter a passkey in which you want to use as you password. Write this down as it will be necessary to get on your network again.
Click save and connect once again to your network now using the wep or wpa code.

Can not remember

you should be able to retrive this again or reset it from your wirless router settings.

To access these you'd have to open up a web browser and type in either of the following:

http://192.168.2.1

http://192.168.1.1

If neither of these work then you'll have to find this yourself. The way to do this is:

(assuming you have windows)

Open up a run command (either go to start > run or use the windows key then hit r)

type in cmd.

once your command window opens enter ipconfig

This will then display a list of infromation regarding your internet. dont worry the only thing you need to focus on is the peice of information that starts

Default Gateway . . . . . . . . : 192.168.*.*

Once youve managed to access this page for your router, simply navigate to the wireless section (varies depending on which company your router is from) and look at your WEP encryption key. is it doesnt display it then the best solution would be to change it

How do i change the WEP key or even view it?

To access the SpeedStream 2623 management interface:
1. Open your Web browser and enter the SpeedStream IP address http://192.168.254.254 in the browser Address box. The SpeedStream 2623 will automatically switch to port 88 for management access.
2. On the Login Screen, enter admin in the Password box; then click Login to display the Status screen of the management interface.

3. Under Simple Setup , go to Wireless Settings - take note of the SSID (this is the name of your wireless network). By default the SSID is "SpeedStream".

4. Still under Simple Setup , go to Wireless Encryption:

Option 1:
A. On the Simple Setup > Wireless Encryption screen, select Automatically.
B. Enter a password or password phrase.
C. Click Generate.
D. Take note of Key 1. This is the key that you will have to use on the Wii to connect wirelessly.
E. Save Settings and Continue.

Option 2:
1. On the Simple Setup | Wireless Encryption screen, select Manually.
2. Enter a password or password phrase.
3. In the bottom half of the screen, select #1.
4. Enter five hexadecimal keys; e.g., a number or letter in the range of 0-9 or A-F.
5. Click Enter to save settings and continue.

You're done with the router. Go to the wireless settings of your Wii and configure it to connect to your wireless network. For a step by step instruction go to this site:

Why Does It Take a Few Tries to Log Into the RO318 with Internet Explorer

Wait for Java to finish loading before typing the username and password. Internet Explorer displays the router's login page before the accompanying Java applet is fully loaded. If you attempt to submit a login before the applet is loaded the router will reject it. Netscape browsers do not have this issue because they do not display the login page until the Java applet is fully loaded. If this does not solve the problem, close and relaunch the browser.
